Drawings from my sketchbook and elsewhere. Wednesday, July 27, 2005. This is what happens to a sweet potato that you leave in a basket in your kitchen, for about a month. It sprouted about six stems. I cut the sweet potato into two pieces and planted them. Look below for a macro shot of a leaf. If you look closely you can see purple in the stem. Posted by Kate at 4:10 PM. Distilled: April 2005
http://dianadistilled.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Drawings from my sketchbook and elsewhere. Sunday, April 17, 2005. My backpack in stages, for EDM Challenge #3, Bags, Wallets, Purses. I bought this backpack while still in college. An extravagance at the time, but I really had always wanted a leather backpack. It cost about $100. Not something that I needed, really, but it's lasted more than fifteen years. That's more than I can say for my last fabric backpack. Posted by Kate at 8:09 PM. Saturday, April 16, 2005. Posted by Kate at 5:49 AM.

The musings of an aspiring novelist. Friday, April 29, 2005. Well, as you are aware (and those of you who aren't: shame on you), Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy (the movie) opens today. I have mixed feelings on it. I was really excited when they were filming the movie, but my optimism has been taking a downward spiral the last couple of weeks as reviews have come in. I'm taking M.J. Simpson's review. Here's me crossing my fingers, and hoping for the best. Posted by Trillian @ 8:52 AM. Benjy took it upon...

I find a certain Douglas Adams quote both fitting and chillingly accurate:. Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. http://pbw.blogspot.com/2006/01/things-better-not-said-aloud.html
The musings of an aspiring novelist. Friday, January 06, 2006. Things Better Not Said Aloud. On Wednesday morning, while having coffee with my colleagues, I lamented about how I was running out of work to do. I shouldn't have said it out loud because now, on Friday, I'm absolutely swamped. What's ok to mentally note is not ok to verbalize. I've angered the work gods. This will not end well. Posted by Trillian @ 2:32 PM. This Blog is About. The musings of an aspiring novelist.
