My Temporary Temple
Sunday, December 25, 2011. Home (On the 9th Day of Christmas). Today, while looking through old things, I found this poem I wrote many many years ago and thought it was sweet. I was obviously not a great writer. Singing in the shower,. My sister scaring me when I am dancing along. In my room,. Looking at my clothes trying to figure. Out what to wear. Home is where I. Hug my piglet late at night,. Watch movies in the dark,. Smell the food my dad cooks each night. A special place no one can make for you.

Specks
Thursday, September 1, 2011. This is not about red and blue; it’s about clarity. The visualization I had today on my therapist’s brown couch seemed easy enough to dissect. Fear represented in flashing red and blue lights, like a siren, an emergency, something requiring immediate attention, an urgent response. Therapy changes my brain chemistry, she tells me. It changes hers too. I don’t want to write about this. Aren’t I more creative than this? Don’t I want to get there, to the bottom of this all? Creat...

A blog with no pictures... | but maybe a thousand words.
A blog with no pictures…. But maybe a thousand words. Not quite 1000 words on walking. On more than one occasion, I have seen a book entitled. For me, walking is a measure of independence. This was brought home to me when I met someone who was born without either of their legs. I can choose to get up, wherever I am, and go somewhere. Now, this brings me to another thing that I love about walking…. I remember walking seemingly crazy distances at seemingly crazy times of day. I remember my old neighbor...

Temporary Texans | Living life one day at a time.
Living life one day at a time. So long, farewell…. Posted by themcclungs in Uncategorized. Auf wiedersehen, goodbye! I am writing this one last post with a little news. Good or bad news? I’ve not yet decided. I am taking a break from the blog (writing) world. Though I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my life with you all, I no longer feel the need or desire to continue. These temporary Texans have returned home to Oklahoma. And we couldn’t be happier. Thank you, old friends, for the warm welcome back.

Temporary Texan Transplant
A four months long account of a woman who has never been on an airplane, who has barely been outside of Texas, and who is tirelessly trying to plan her wedding while on a foreign continent. Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Let me just say, that this was insane. The whole idea. The whole, "I'm gonna go to France, I'm gonna be fluent, I'm gonna plan a wedding, I'm gonna come back to a normal life." Moronic much, huh? On arrival, host mom came to pick us up in the car and Shad winced at the sharp turns and narrow...
