What's Teresa Cookin'?: Calming Rose Tea
http://whatsteresacookin.blogspot.com/2012/09/calming-rose-tea.html
A hurried attempt at a foodie life. Green AcuClinic Practice Page. Teresa Y Green on Facebook. Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Fortunately, I'm a master herbalist, which in practice means I can forage through my cupboards better than most people for medicinal foods. Today I found my decaffeinated green tea (which helps the digestive side of things) and my food-grade rose petals (which are calming and soothing). I put a couple of rosebuds into a teaspoon of tea, and made a cuppa. Labels: calming rose tea.

Five a Day Music: Ain't No Grave. . .
http://fiveadaymusic.blogspot.com/2013/05/aint-no-grave.html
Five a Day Music. Sunday, May 5, 2013. Ain't No Grave. . . I put this together before George Jones' death, and included "She Stopped Loving Her Today" as just a great funeral song. Now it is a small tribute to someone I've listened to my whole life.). This week's songs are about death and funerals- the touching, the maudlin, and the odd. I love the music, the way Lyle catches the feel of a funeral. . .and even a bit of humor. Lyle Lovett: Since The Last Time. And the joy in it. Labels: Aint No Grave.

Five a Day Music: April 2013
http://fiveadaymusic.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Five a Day Music. Thursday, April 25, 2013. Moon Too- This Time in Pink. Photo from Stock Exchange. Tonight is the pink moon. The full moon in spring when the flowers are in bloom. So I thought a second round of moon songs was in order. Jim is a lot of the inspiration for this entry, and the source for a lot of really cool songs. First, there is actually a Pink Moon Song. I can't say I like it, but here it is:. Nick Drake: Pink Moon. The Capris: There's A Moon Out Tonight. Jerry Butler: Moon River. All t...

Five a Day Music: The Importance of Music in the Human Condition
http://fiveadaymusic.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-importance-of-music-in-human.html
Five a Day Music. Friday, April 12, 2013. The Importance of Music in the Human Condition. Photo from sxc.hu. Every few years, a movie will come out for people in the grown-up world. The Big Chill, American Grafitti, Grease, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, American Pie, even Mama Mia! What moved that first person to tap on a rock or strum a stretched bit of sinew to make sound? I read an artilce by David Byrne. I cannot be so circumspect. Like my teenage self, a computer will never understand the...

What's Teresa Cookin'?: Pesto
http://whatsteresacookin.blogspot.com/2010/10/pesto.html
A hurried attempt at a foodie life. Green AcuClinic Practice Page. Teresa Y Green on Facebook. Sunday, October 17, 2010. At least 5 generous handfuls basil (pull the leaves after measuring), or 2-3 small packages from the store (can substitute some or all parsley or cilantro for a very different flavor). 4 or more cloves of garlic (hard to use too much). A handful (1/3 cup or so) walnuts, pignoli, or almonds (I've never tried pecans, but I can imagine that working, too). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Five a Day Music: Turtles
http://fiveadaymusic.blogspot.com/2014/04/turtles.html
Five a Day Music. Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Photo Credit: FreeImages.com. Today, for the random act of reviving the music blog, I randomly picked "turtles" as the theme. Finding five songs about turtles without descending into all children's songs was harder than I thought. I'm not sure what it means, but Leonard Cohen includes some culinary details in Jazz Police:. Jazz Police: Leonard Cohen. Guys like me are mad for turtle meat.". A touching tale of ruling and one little guy standing up for freedom:.

Five a Day Music: Songs About Clothes and Other Wearables
http://fiveadaymusic.blogspot.com/2013/04/songs-about-clothes-and-other-wearables.html
Five a Day Music. Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Songs About Clothes and Other Wearables. Photo courtesy of Tombre. I was surprised at how many songs there are about clothes and other wearables. I picked these songs based solely on which ones I most wanted to hear. If you have any suggestions for clothing songs, let me know- there's plenty of possibilities for another run. Clothes tell us a lot about a person. . .and when Dylan decides to write about it, it can tell you a lot about a love affair. I am an acupun...
