2011 TerraVin Sauvignon Blanc Te Ahu. TerraVin’s 2011 Te Ahu, an aged Sauvignon Blanc, won the International Sauvignon Blanc Trophy at the IWC this year. 2011 was a moderate yielding vintage with a good flowering that was backed up by a classic Marlborough summer. The smaller berries ensured good concentration and the warmth ensured nice balance of acid, PH and lower alcohols. Hand harvested into 10kg bins. Harvested in 2 lots on 4. Brix 23.1 -23.5. 6 tons per hectare. International Wine Challenge 2014.

There is debate as to whether winemaking is more art than science. At TerraVin, we’re happy to continue that argument anytime over a glass of Pinot Noir.
