http://terriebrown2ndgrade.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
We're Using iPads in 2nd Grade! I am going to be sharing how my students use iPads in class. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. IShare iPad Parent Day. Next, students and parents had a little fun with the iPad. They went into Photo Booth and took some pictures together. Students were able to show their parents how they could blur images, add crazy effects and distort parts of the pictures. They had to save at least one picture for an activity at the end of our iShare Day. Overall, it was huge success. Parent...

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with members of my district's iPad Academy. (Other teachers that are also 1:1 iPad Classrooms) WTW was being discussed and I shared my WTW Journal with many of the teachers. They encouraged me to share my work in my blog, so that's what I decided to do! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My 1st iPad Class.

We're Using iPads in 2nd Grade! I am going to be sharing how my students use iPads in class. Saturday, October 17, 2015. Have you ever wondered where you were going to get your next big idea? Or what might inspire you to do some new project? Well, I was sitting in a Techie Tuesday in September and I found my idea. I was taking some time to read through Twitter and I saw a post about 2nd graders. Of course, it sparked my interest. The Tweet was about the book, The Dot. Thanks to Darin Swenson. The Dot Pro...

We're Using iPads in 2nd Grade! I am going to be sharing how my students use iPads in class. Friday, December 6, 2013. This will be my first official blog that is not via Kidblog. I titled it Excited for iPads. It was hard to keep the secret for 4 days. I know I would not have been able to wait much longer. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. So Thanks Coach Catlett for stopping by and giving me a great reason to reveal the big news! It was a fun moment to share with you! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, March 16, 2014. Stick Around" and hangout with Tony Vincent! Thanks to the one and only Brent Catlett (@catlett1), our class was given the amazing opportunity to hangout with Tony Vincent (@tonyvincent), creator of the app, Stick Around. There were several classrooms hanging out across the district as well. Our 4th graders were able to ask Tony questions about his app. Tony even added student suggestions to his list! Cole asking Tony Vincent, "How did you create StickAround? I have created puzzle...

Monday, September 14, 2015. This year I am really pushing the question, "Who Can? I ask this question A LOT and students' hands shoot up all over the classroom. They are eager to show that they are learning how to use the app. This question, although simple, has been a powerful tool when teaching my students how to use a new app. My students are paying close attention as to how each app works. My most recent focus has been on the app, Stick Around. Who can show the class how to add text? We're Using iPad...

Tuesday, April 8, 2014. What does a gallery walk look like with iPads and students? Did you see that project? You have to see this cool thing they added! Those are just some of the comments I have heard during our gallery walks. Students becoming teachers and being inspired by those around them as well as new ideas and collaboration! How is their work assessed? It seemed as if students were just doing work to get it done and move onto the next assignment (almost going through the motions). We're Using iP...

miPad Classroom: Celebration of Learning!

Sunday, March 23, 2014. Celebration of Learning Room. In the past I have conducted what I thought was a student-led conference, but after this year I realized what it truly looks like when students lead a conference! Having a set of iPads has given my students more choice and the power to create and demonstrate what they know and understand in multiple ways. Students showed their Keynote journals. And the Stick Around Rocks and Mineral. Sort puzzle they create. We had 5 students make a "how to". After co...
miPad Classroom: January 2015

Sunday, January 25, 2015. No Time, No Problem! This year was a year of firsts for me, even though I have been teaching for eight years! This was my first year starting the year off with iPads. My previous year, I received the iPads in January, so the kids were already using them with Sharae Geldes. We were able to dive right in and start using the iPads (no pre-teaching required). So it was quite a shock, but also great learning/teaching experience starting from scratch this year. Causes of the Civil War.

Friday, February 28, 2014. In Math today I tried my first ever flipped lesson! First my students solved two p. Uzzles (a review of yesterday's concepts) using the. Next, I posed this question to my students: What are some of the benefits of a flipped lesson? Here is what some of my students had to say:. I like that I can go at my own pace.". I think it is good that I can pause and go back if I am confused or need help.". I can go back and use it when I am working on my assignment.". I am glad I decided t...
