Adventures in Mommyhood: Perfect summer weekend
http://kandjfamily.blogspot.com/2013/06/perfect-summer-weekend.html
Sunday, June 9, 2013. After swim lessons on Friday we all headed to the K for a Royals game. We had great seats and a parking pass and made it about 5 innings. I consider that a success for Patrick's first game and a 7:05 first pitch! While the kids napped Saturday afternoon, I enjoyed sun time on the deck. As I told J, it is my happiest place. After naps, we played in the water table. But, we had a great time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Think Too Much: March 2011
http://sciencefamilybalance.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Posts about maintaining balance in my life and my attempts to use all of my gifts. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Growing up in H-ville. One of the reasons I have to take you back this far, besides making it clear that I'm a country girl at heart, is to explain about motherhood, careers and my future plans - the plans I had back then, I mean. I was taught, directly and indirectly, that the best job you could ever have was to be a mother. The person doing the teaching was my. Didn't I feel like any other girl?

Think Too Much: The Church of My Choosing
http://sciencefamilybalance.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-church-of-my-choosing.html
Posts about maintaining balance in my life and my attempts to use all of my gifts. Monday, April 15, 2013. The Church of My Choosing. Lately, I have been imagining how church should be. I was trying to write a fictional story in which a crisis led to the formation of a new community which, in turn, generated a new church - quite different from the old. It seems that I am too impatient and selfish to work through the details of the story, for I have abandoned it. During this gathering, they do not over-ea...

Think Too Much: February 2012
http://sciencefamilybalance.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Posts about maintaining balance in my life and my attempts to use all of my gifts. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Body, Mind, and Spirit - my own personal trinity. When I started this blog, the stated purpose was to post about maintaining balance in my life and my attempts to use all of my gifts. I was, at that time, missing teaching, missing science and worried about forgetting the many things I had learned during my 25 years in the field (if you count back to my first job after college). Fortunately, my...

Posts about maintaining balance in my life and my attempts to use all of my gifts. Thursday, October 13, 2011. October 16, 2011 is Laity Sunday. I volunteered to preach. Matthew 22:15-22is the gospel lesson for that day. Here's the summary:. Pharisees - religious group, oppose Roman rule, strict followers of the Jewish laws. Think Too Much: January 2011
http://sciencefamilybalance.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Posts about maintaining balance in my life and my attempts to use all of my gifts. Wednesday, January 5, 2011. The streets were quiet and snow-covered in the pale morning light. The effect was beautiful and Julie took it all in as she made her way to the loading dock. This entrance was the fastest way to the lab. She unlocked the door, stomped her feet to knock off the snow and jogged up the stairs. The hall was empty, not surprising since it was only 7:30 am. 8220;What are you doing here so early? Been ...

Think Too Much: If You Give a Person a God
http://sciencefamilybalance.blogspot.com/2013/04/if-you-give-person-god.html
Posts about maintaining balance in my life and my attempts to use all of my gifts. Thursday, April 11, 2013. If You Give a Person a God. If you give a person a god, they will try to understand it in terms that they know. They will imagine that it looks like a grandfather, because it is supposed to have been around for a long time. It is supposed to be wise. If you say it is all-powerful, they will ask it for things. If you say it will make all things new, they will beg it to come back soon. So I finished...
