Texans Incorporated: TV Lamps
http://www.texansincorporated.com/tvlamps.html
THE HISTORY OF A LAMP COMPANY. TV Lamps, Page One. This A505 panther, clearly the most popular of the eight "pre-Kron" TV lamps, was made by other potteries as well. The source of the original design is unknown. Not often found in white, this A505 bears the Texans Inc. stamp on the felt base. This B10 panther was made in several solid colors and "two tones", all quite rare. This 22k gold version is probably one of a kind. Here's a back view of the gold B10. The felt base is marked. The model T70 was a di...

http://www.texansincorporated.com/trade1.html
THE HISTORY OF A LAMP COMPANY. Trade Shows, Page 1. Taken at various times and locations, most of these pictures are of trade show displays at Market Hall and the Trade Mart in Dallas. They appear to all date from 1971 or later, and were scanned from slides that are in the collection of Pete and Evangeline Eads. Del Rio Plant Manager Arturo Norte was a fine caricaturist, and always drew crowds (pardon the pun) at the trade shows. Frank Laidlow and Howard Kron. Pete Eads, Howard Kron and Tommy Young.

Texans Incorporated: Table Lamps
http://www.texansincorporated.com/table1.html
THE HISTORY OF A LAMP COMPANY. Table Lamps, Page One. Texans Incorporated might be best known today for their TV lamps, but table lamps were their primary focus. Many hundreds of designs were produced, making any attempt at placing them in an exact chronological order all but impossible. However imprecise, the lamps are presented here in the approximate sequence of their initial release. Model G833. This is very representative of the designs brought to Texans by Polynesian Arts in the early years. Unless...

Texans Incorporated Reunion 2009
http://www.texansinc.com/reunion2009.html
Texans Incorporated Reunion 2009. The Fifth Annual Texans Incorporated Reunion was held on November 7th 2009 at TexasBank in Bangs, Texas, and it may have been the best gathering of enthusiasts yet. Lamp collectors and historians came from all over to Bangs, the former home of the lamp factory, to reunite with old friends, buy, sell, and trade lamps, and learn more about the unique Texas institution that was Texans Incorporated. I don't think Texans ever had a display this spectacular at the trade shows!

Texans Inc: 1776 Table Lamp
http://www.texansinc.com/1776.html
The bicentennial year of 1976 saw a tremendous number of products marketed specifically to address the "bicentennial fever" that swept the nation. Among those was the "1776" Table Lamp. The photo above, showing Gunter adding his signature to one of the lamps, deserves a closer look. Taken in 1975, it is interesting to see that in the background (upper-left) appears the mallard duck and "dancing couple" TV lamps. still in production! The Douglas MacArthur Academy of Freedom, an affiliate of Howard Payne U...

Texans in a Foreign Land
Texans in a Foreign Land. Well, Georgia is not really foreign. But for two people who have lived all their lives (or just about all their lives) in Texas, moving elsewhere sort of seems foreign. Texans in Italy
Saturday, December 08, 2007. This may launch me over the cuckoo's nest. It's not that I haven't had anything to say recently. When you're in your eighth month of pregnancy in a foreign country, your gripes and musings really stack up. Or when I went to the public hospital to make an appointment for my five-month-ultrasound and was told that there was a six-month-waiting list for that ultrasound. (! But none of those things have inspired me to write. Right now the thing I think about most is not the C...
