Life Through My Lens: June 2013
http://rfmcneely.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Life Through My Lens. All the reasons I always carry a camera.or two.or three. Saturday, June 8, 2013. I headed out to the Little League fields today to watch Spencer and Sam - who both had 3:00 games - play a little baseball. It was a playoff game for Sam and the championship game for Spencer, and they were playing on neighboring fields. Meanwhile, Sam's game went a little bit longer, so we were able to catch the end of it. They ended up winning (yay! Without saying a word. Spencer quietly shook his...

http://rfmcneely.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Life Through My Lens. All the reasons I always carry a camera.or two.or three. Sunday, September 7, 2014. Oh, sweet Addie Compton. Just like the two Bruce babies before you, I took one look at you and was madly in love. Hooked. However many babies your mom and dad have, I will love them all like crazy. He's the happiest kid on the planet. I'm sure he's thrilled you're a girl so he can stay a mama's boy. You will be the coolest girl ever because you will know EVERYTHING about every ball and big tr...Ashle...

Life Through My Lens: May 2012
http://rfmcneely.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Life Through My Lens. All the reasons I always carry a camera.or two.or three. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. The Sound of Music. I was humbled and honored to take photos this weekend at a gorgeous backyard wedding here in Winston. The mother of a longtime friend from high school was married at their home and I was fortunate enough to be there behind the camera to capture the beautiful event for their family. In our family, learning to read music has always been just as important as learning your multiplication ...

Hometown Tourists: Eat One for the Gipper!
http://hometowntourists.blogspot.com/2011/09/eat-one-for-gipper.html
Stories about exploring our town. Eat One for the Gipper! I n 1920, at the tender age of 25*, a young man by the name of George Gipp died of strep throat and pneumonia. Antibiotics weren't prevalent. It's a death that would be unheard of now. Yet it's a life that resonates with all of us. Who hasn't heard the phrase "Win one for the Gipper! Coach Rockne then used those words to inspire his underdog team to defeat Army in 1928. In 1940 Ronald Reagan played "Gipp" in the movie. Knute Rockne, All American".

someday: March 2015
http://luckeyone.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Quilt for a good cause. My mom and sister are quilters. Any time I visit with them I'm inspired to quilt; however once I'm home and back in my sewing space, garment sewing wins over. The pattern is from Amy Ellis' book Modern Neutrals. I'm drawn to graphic quilts and this book helped guide the selection for fabric colors. There are plenty of designs in the book which I could see myself making in the future, but it won't happen quickly. I've got clothes to sew! Monday, March 23, 2015. The almost teen is d...

Relearning The Wheel: Home Remedies
http://relearningthewheel.blogspot.com/2015/01/home-remedies.html
Investigation, Experimentation, and Modification. On Wednesday, January 28, 2015. 1 Recently I had the beginning of a canker sore. Inside my mouth. Usually, this would get progressively worse over about 3 days and then last a week. This time, I started swishing a teaspoon of coconut oil around in my mouth for 15 minutes as soon as I got up, and by day 3 the canker sore was totally gone and healed! I was pretty impressed! 2 Yesterday I woke up with the beginnings of an awful cold. That I had a store credi...

Relearning The Wheel: Mole in One!
http://relearningthewheel.blogspot.com/2015/03/mole-in-one.html
Investigation, Experimentation, and Modification. On Wednesday, March 18, 2015. We're back to normal eating here, and it's great. I'm starting to seek out raw cheese for the nutrients and picked up our first raw milk share tonight. It's good to have dairy back in my life. I caught a cold this week and made elderberry gummies. They were fine but not delicious, who knows how they perform compared to the syrup? Flowers for the would-be birthday of our first baby that was never born. March 21, 2015 at 5:59 PM.

Relearning The Wheel: Dryer Balls
http://relearningthewheel.blogspot.com/2015/05/dryer-balls.html
Investigation, Experimentation, and Modification. On Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Projects have been done the past couple months and forgotten along the way. Here is one I remember: I bought a number of wool sweaters on Dollar Day at the thrift store, and cut them up for felting. The cuffs and scrap pieces I rolled into balls, and stitched closed. Now I've got wool dryer balls! I also bought fermenting grains from Cultures for Health for the first time. I tried making water kefir. The Run a Muck. And sponsor...
