Texas Quilting - Quilting in the Lone Star StateJanuary 2017

8211; Quilting in the Lone Star State. Block 96 In the Sunshine. Oops; I just realized I didn’t take a photo of the actual finished block. I was pretty close at this point – I was just about to stitch around the edges of it. As we finish up the last few blocks, I’ve been working to make sure the outer portions of each block line up…. Block 93 Tiny Miracles. Have you ever had one of those times when you think “I’m gonna get so much stuff done! My slate is clean and I’m going to sew all day! I was quilting...

8211; Quilting in the Lone Star State. BSQ 7 – Beggar’s block. Posted by Texas Quilting. December 19, 2016. I’ve gone back and forth a few times about how to title these blocks. I think I’ve finally decided on BSQ (short for Bible sampler quilt) then the number it is in the book and then the name of the actual block. I’ve actually made more than what I’ve posted here so far – surprise, surprise – but I figure one per post is plenty anyway. 3 Comments Add yours. December 20, 2016 at 7:06 am. Follow Blog v...

8211; Quilting in the Lone Star State. Completed quilts, etc. Posted by Texas Quilting. December 18, 2016. When I was at the Quilt Festival, I happened to see a booth with a monthly pillow kit and best of all the teeny tiny pieces were precut so all I had to do was trim the backing fabric, put the pieces into place and move around as needed, sew and that was about it. After that, I spent probably most of the time in any one area satin stitching around each letter and accompanying decoration. I though...

8211; Quilting in the Lone Star State. Maybe Storm at Sea? I am absolutely not planning to start sewing this anytime soon – and by soon I mean tomorrow – haha! No seriously, I won’t be sewing this in the near future; I have the final machine quilting block coming out on Thursday. That same day is a Splendid Sampler block, and Amy Ellis has said…. Block 83 Minnesota Maze. Back to work tomorrow after almost a full week off. That was a nice break! 175 out of 221. En Provence première semaine. Actually, I...

8211; Quilting in the Lone Star State. Quilt, quilt, quit. I think our quilt group had the largest number yet go on our road trip yesterday. I don’t know how many there were on the bus but it seemed like I only recognized half of them. Lots of quilters in our area! It was in a venue with quite a few vendors which was nice…. 8216;Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’ I took one look at today’s block and let out a “woo hoo! Block 47 Circle of Love. We received a wedding invitation...

That's what my mom said. This ‘n That. August 6, 2015. My dear, most wonderful husband gave me to go ahead to get this. It’s a big honkin’ roll of my favorite batting! I have no idea how long it will last, but I am thrilled to have it in the house! It’s just so awesome! I got a project quilted today, and hope to finish the binding, labeling and photo op for it tomorrow. But I can’t post it for another week or so…. Have a great weekend, friends! Another Super-Hero quilt is in the works…. That's what ...

Beauty surrounds us in all things. Enough about snakes.let me tell you about our maternity ward! In late March or early April, while working in the garden, I noticed some twigs sticking out of the bottom of the plastic owl I have in the garden. Looking closer I noticed the nest was emptyI should have taken it down right then but decided I’d leave it. So I paused and looked inone little white speckled egg. Hmmok.no big thing…wrong! Then this is today’s picture (July 1st). Cute little things aren’t they!
Empty Nesters… | Threadcrazy

Beauty surrounds us in all things. The saga of the mother wren who built her nest under a slide of our motorhome has ended. All five babies fledged and left us. On July 7, I snuck out early thinking I’d get one more picture of the babieswell I did! At first, I thought there were only four babies left in the nest! But if you’ll look right behind the one on the left, you’ll see a small sliver of white! That’s the fifth baby hiding from me. Now before you say, where’s your first trip going to be? What a ble...
