1923 - Climbing Mount Everest - the motion picture. Numerous postcards were published for performances of Noel's film. The effectiveness of this form of publicity may well have given Noel the idea to produce a similar advertising card to be sent from the next Expedition. It appears that most of the publicity material (postcards, posters and programmes) was produced by the printers John Waddington and Co. 1924 - The Great Experiment. Sandy' Irvine, was one of the new additions to the 1924 team. Because of his youth, he was described by General Bruce as 'the experiment of the Expedition'. 1923 Mallory in America. During February and March 1923, George Mallory was sent on a speaking tour in the USA, with the aim of raising funds for the next Everest expedition. The tour was financially disappointing but did much to enhance Mallorys reputation. In the letter shown above, dated Boston March 8, Mallory writes:.
