Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Threads and Beads to the Rescue. It was easy for me to see that this project was really going to be a challenge. Already I wasn't sure what to do and how to incorporate the fabrics that I was given. I decided that I was going to let the fabrics "talk" to me. (really - they will talk to you if you listen) Out came my BIG BIG bag of supplies. Beads, threads, notions and such. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. One of the 50 Participants. Then I had to get to work. Project Patchwork, ...

Monday, May 30, 2011. Nourishing my creative soul. Since I've been trying to nourish my creative soul and Friday was my only free day of this holiday weekend (working the rest of it at the museum), I decided to enjoy a day trip to Hudson, Wisconsin on Friday. Our first stop was The Phipps Center for the Arts. These first photos are of work by fiber art students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. . Often that can be as simple as visiting places where I find beauty- a favorite gallery/museum, a ga...

The smell of spring is in the air. If you have the chance or time, get out and enjoy the day! I can't believe how gorgeous it is outside right now. I've got the windows open and there's a nice breeze that is scented with the smell of blossoms from the crabapple tree near our house! Ps That photo above is my little haul that I got a few weeks ago in Minneapolis at their annual Textile Center. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Artist. crafter. baker. thrift-o-holic. Monday, March 30, 2009. This weekend was the Artists' Clearinghouse at Crossings. We had great weather; that is to say it was sunny and about 30 degrees F. Though it started out slow on Saturday morning, we ended up having a lot of traffic come through during the weekend. I did fairly well, selling more scarves than vessels. Thank you to everyone who stopped by! Two of the other artists were friends that had taken my felted vessel class in January: Amy Giannini. I tried to get a sense of what people were...
