Reticella heart | textile dreams - fibery wake up

https://textiledreamer.wordpress.com/2007/06/02/reticella-heart

Textile dreams – fibery wake up. June 2, 2007 at 2:34 pm Posted in Lace. I finally finished up my latest project. This heart measures 10*10 cm. I adapted the pattern from Needle-made Laces. I’m not sure yet what kind of project I’ll do next, but I think it will go in another direction, away from the purely geometric stuff. I’m thinking of some leaves or flowers to turn into a lace motif. 8 Comments ». Feed for comments on this post. 8212; February 24, 2009 #. Comment by Occasional Crafter. Unfortunately,...

Textile dreams – fibery wake up. June 27, 2015 at 6:07 pm Posted in Lace. As an expected and very welcome side effect of my vacation exploits looking at lace in Belgium I’ve been back at my lace pillow that had sat unloved in a corner for several years. Having found over time that I have no use for lace doilies, and keeping the art stuff to quiltmaking mostly, what do you do? So, that being out of the way, what’s the new project? It is the German version of Vlaanderse Kant. 8221; by Poljo – Own work.

Textile dreams – fibery wake up. Kantcentrum Brugge – Belgium’s Center for Bobbin Lace. June 6, 2015 at 5:57 pm Posted in Lace. Brugge was one of the places on my must-see list in Belgium. It is one of those pretty old towns with lots of old houses and lots of water that I was to find several times during my week of traveling around. But I was here to see the real thing, after all. The Kantcentrum. They give – lots of interesting things, I’d love to go one day. 3 Comments ». Feed for comments on this post.

Textile dreams – fibery wake up. October 26, 2008 at 11:07 am Posted in Tatting. In response to my Needlework for Today. Post, CateranLlama commented with an interesting idea:. No, seriously, find a pair of biggish (plainish) beads you really like and tat a few lacy loops around ‘em and finish ‘em off with earring hooks. If you want to play as well, CateranLlama wrote up what she did to create these. If you don’t know how to tat, the Encyclopedia of Needlework. Feed your string through the eye at the bot...

Jenny's Australian Needleart Journey: A Filet Dragonfly

http://jennysaustralianneedleart.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-filet-dragonfly.html

Thursday, February 26, 2015. Behold my filet dragonfly! I am very proud of him as he is my own. Drawn on paper, transferred to a graph, then worked onto my own hand made mesh. The mesh is made by drawing two threads, leaving two threads, in a pattern, both vertical and horrizontal. The remaining threads are then whipped together for strength. Making this mesh takes time. Watch this space as there will be more filet to come. Can be the first to say:. Thursday, 26 February 2015 at 12:51:00 GMT 11. Scanned ...

Jenny's Australian Needleart Journey: Teneriffe Trials

http://jennysaustralianneedleart.blogspot.com/2009/11/teneriffe-trials.html

Thursday, November 19, 2009. 1 Fabric not taught enough in the hoop. I did notice it getting slack over time and will need to watch that in the future. 2 My tensioning is too tight, always a problem with me and needleweaving. 3 Base spokes not set up correctly, something I have to watch. 4 Type of thread could make a difference. Why did I start with such a difficult one? A nice cotton would have been much better than this synthetic. Jenny, nice first attempt. Have you tried using a Teneriffe wheel? I thi...

Jenny's Australian Needleart Journey: A Drop Stitch Scarf

http://jennysaustralianneedleart.blogspot.com/2014/12/a-drop-stitch-scarf.html

Thursday, December 18, 2014. A Drop Stitch Scarf. I decided on a simple drop stitch knitting pattern. It is only plain knitting in garter stitch, with the yarn winds varying between the stitches, thus giving the end result a wavy look. I had used this pattern twice before, once in a variegated cashmere. Yarn, and once combing a textured variegated yarn with a plain. It was a pattern that I could commit to memory. So now was the time to put them to use. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Lace For a Friend.

Jenny's Australian Needleart Journey: Lace For a Friend

http://jennysaustralianneedleart.blogspot.com/2010/12/lace-for-friend.html

Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Lace For a Friend. Well, it's been a while since I have posted any new work here, so I thought I would show you all what I have been working on the last few months. I knew roughly what design I wanted, and approximate size, but had to work out the individual circle size. I also wanted the circles to touch, but how to physically work out a pattern? I knew it was a geometry thing but it took me a while to get my head around it and even then I needed some help. Tuesday, 21 Decemb...

http://lovetostitch99.blogspot.com/2006_10_27_archive.html

Love to Stitch 99. Friday, October 27, 2006. Well, I have been having fun these past couple days stitching something for Halloween. I found this cute little drawing and thought that was exactly what I needed at this time of the year. What is Halloween without some ghosts and spiders to spook us a little? Here the spiders are gone because our friendly ghost has been hard at work washing all those nasty cobwebs :-). Pierrette = . =. Http:/ community.webshots.com/user/sunshineplus. Love to Stitch 99. A little bit about Me. August 2, 2015. August 3, 2015. Over the past month I have added a few more to the QAYG Hexagon bundle. This long term hand work project surfaced when I did a tidy up in the back room. Previously 27 completed now up to 35 of 100. 35 in no particular order. Still not sure if I should add a simple sashiko star or? Naturally in black to blend with the back on each before they are joined. What do you think? All advice and thoughts appreciated.
