Thai Girl: Summer of Sixty Nine
http://thaigirl2004.blogspot.com/2014/11/summer-of-sixty-nine.html
The Exotic Adventures of a Literary Sexagenarian. Thursday, 20 November 2014. Summer of Sixty Nine. Then on the way home, brought a big Ford station wagon back to New York. Sleeping in the mountains in the car we couldn't get out in the night because of the bears sniffing about. Had to go up to Toronto to see what mounties looked like as they must be everywhere. Can't remember what I'd done wrong. A True Friend to China. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A True Friend to China. View my complete profile.

Thai Girl: JACK'S BOOKS!
http://thaigirl2004.blogspot.com/2015/01/jacks-books.html
The Exotic Adventures of a Literary Sexagenarian. Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Some seven years ago I became fascinated with Jack Reynolds because he had written only one book, the remarkable novel, A WOMAN OF BANGKOK. It was published in New York and London, was much reissued and translated and is still in print today, a tribute to it's enduring qualities. JACK JONES-A TRUE FRIEND TO CHINA should be out soon. I'm now pretty impatient after five years' research. A True Friend to China.

Thai Girl: December 2010

The Exotic Adventures of a Literary Sexagenarian. Wednesday, 8 December 2010. My Thai Girl's a Hunter-Gatherer. This crab wandered in and paid the price. During the rains there's frogs and fish in the rice fields. These tiny fish are delicious deep fried. And this was the trap that caught them. A spicy dish of bamboo shoot is highly prized. But it takes much time and effort to prepare it. But it was not always that way. Once there were forests and food for free. I’d never before thought of Thais as...

Thai Girl: November 2012
http://thaigirl2004.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
The Exotic Adventures of a Literary Sexagenarian. Thursday, 8 November 2012. And frankly, having seen first-hand the grasping greed of many Thai girls and the terrible consequences of their overwhelming desire for money on naive Western men, I couldn't see anything in the female Thai characters that would cause any guy to 'fall in love'. I don't pretend to have an understanding of men, but who would fall for the sob stories and rapaciousness of child-like women who see sex as a monetary transaction?

The Exotic Adventures of a Literary Sexagenarian. Tuesday, 14 October 2014. The Breasts of Dora - Shock Photos! When Jack Reynolds gave a copy of A WOMAN OF BANGKOK to Bernard Llewellyn, his best buddy from the Friends Ambulance Unit 'China Convoy', he wrote the above on the title page and it puzzled me greatly. Meeting and pausing awhile in the back streets of Bangkok is one thing but! But who was Dora? A True Friend to China. Monday, 6 October 2014. A True Friend to China. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://thaigirl2004.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
The Exotic Adventures of a Literary Sexagenarian. Friday, 29 October 2010. Central World Plaza, the massive retail mall in Bangkok that was devastated during the political protests only a few months ago has opened once again. Comparing this picture to the scene of destruction that you will see if you scan down this blog is remarkable. Amazing Thailand, Resilient Thailand, a country that is admirable in so many ways. Nonetheless, for her sake I desperately hope that she can learn to adapt and change i...

The Exotic Adventures of a Literary Sexagenarian. Wednesday, 16 June 2010. Cute Terrorists-Which Way Thailand Now? A scrawled poster pasted up during the recent demonstrations in Bangkok suggests the wide popular nature of the protest. But was it, as the much criticised media coverage suggested, a genuine peoples's movement for democracy or was it in fact a power struggle by new monied interests seeking to seize power from the traditional elites? Where does the truth lie and what's next for Thailand?
