Anticipate | Thames Valley Vision

http://www.thamesvalleyvision.co.uk/our-project/tvv-approach/anticipate

In order to maintain the existing levels of supply quality and plan new network developments, there is a real need to understand how different consumers on different parts of the network will use electricity in the future. TVV is utilising sophisticated mathematical techniques to develop these models. By adopting modelling techniques used in the financial sector, TVV will be able to produce new forecasts of load flow and voltage profiles. ADR – Automated Demand Response. Learning & dissemination.

2

Understand | Thames Valley Vision

http://www.thamesvalleyvision.co.uk/our-project/tvv-approach/understand

Through the planned monitoring activities and the related modelling work, TVV intend to identify solutions that minimise the need for extensive monitoring on all parts of the network that will be both costly and time consuming to achieve. Measuring new parameters of the network’s electrical characteristics. Use of communication technologies to bring data back in real time. New sensor equipment that removes need for network disruption. ADR – Automated Demand Response. Learning & dissemination.

3

TVV approach | Thames Valley Vision

http://www.thamesvalleyvision.co.uk/our-project/tvv-approach

TVV has adopted an approach addressing three key elements:. Also vital to the success of project and the implementation of these solutions into business as usual is the Integration. Of these elements into business systems, processes and industry design. The dissemination of the Learning. That is developed during the project is also crucial to the acceptance of these solutions by customers; by the industry; and for the wider promotion of the low carbon economy. ADR – Automated Demand Response.

ADR – Automated Demand Response | Thames Valley Vision

http://www.thamesvalleyvision.co.uk/our-project/tvv-approach/suppor/adr-automated-demand-response

ADR – Automated Demand Response. ADR – Automated Demand Response. To overcome the increase in electricity demand that is causing some networks to approach their maximum capabilities, Automated Demand Response (ADR) is a new technology that enables network companies to defer costly investment in new capacity. This is achieved by reducing the electrical load on the network during times of peak demand – typically between 4pm-6pm in winter months. To join and all equipment is installed at no-cost. Ability t...

Industry ready | Thames Valley Vision

http://www.thamesvalleyvision.co.uk/our-trials/industry-ready

These trials have been defined to ensure that any of the elements that we decide are fit for purpose to introduce into our distribution business, can equally be implemented into any other UK electricity distribution company. The primary deliverables relate to policy changes and training requirements to take any of the elements of the project and implement in the day to day management activity of the Low Voltage network. ADR – Automated Demand Response. Learning & dissemination. Save energy & money. Generate & save. What is the issue? Government 2050 targets require an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions. Energy usage will have to change and more will need to be produced from renewable sources. Increasing consumption will impact how we deliver electricity to homes and businesses, and to achieve this in an affordable way will require innovative new solutions. More about the issue. What are we doing? More about our project.

Thursday, 10 May 2012. Legends of the Old West. Ok, so it has been a long time coming but at our last meeting we played our first game of LOTOW using figures and terrain supplied by one of our members. There were six of us playing so we started by creating two ad hoc posses of 9 figures and controlled 3 figures each. As this was our first game we didn't want it. To become too cumbersome. All we wanted to do was to try the rules out and see how the mechanisms worked. Rowdy types meandering into town.
