On bike rides, whether short or long, the problems of flat tyres, manoeuvring bike in high speed traffic with their high beams at night that too on single roads, strong winds and of course the unexpected potholes or bad roads are the MAJOR problems. This was our RTDC resthouse at Shahpura. Take right for NH-11 from NH-8 at Shahpura. NH-11 - towards Bikaner. The railway line runs parallel to the highway for few kilometres. This is 'Fort Rajwada' - our hotel - good place to stay. Checked out of hotel and reached to the fort of Jaisalmer. The only living fort of India. Still locals live in the fort. Thar desert on two wheels - DAY 3. Wednesday, September 12, 2007. 31st march, 07. DNP – Ratangarh. Via Sam – Jaisalmer – Pokhran – Bikaner. Out resthouse at Desert national park. Reached early at Sam dunes while returning. We cant afford our trip without the camel ride on dunes, so as soon as we parked our bike, again many people approached us like the previous day. Thar desert on two wheels - LAST DAY. Tuesday, September 11, 2007. 1st April, 07. Ratangarh – Delhi. Via Sikar, Chomu, Shahpura, Gurgaon. Got up early. Left Ratangarh, the small beautiful town. We and our babe were now habitual of high speed at this highway. Kept on ripping and taking butt and photo breaks. Had lunch at a dhaba after crossing Shahpura on our pet NH-8. It was around 1700 hrs we were on ring road near Dhaula kuan. YESS! Finally in DELHI …. Back home. sweet home …. Trip metre - 2166 kms.
