Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Christmas Music Gets a New Beat in the 1920s-30s. In the late 1800’s, the cylinder recorder came into being allowing the public to purchase music to be played at home instead of going to live performances. Then in the late 19-teens, along came the 78 rpm record and gramophones to play them on and recorded music took another step forward. Antique Christmas Music: October 2009
http://antiquechristmasmusic.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 18, 2009. Christmas Memories in Song. Ambrose Haley and His Ozark Ramblers sing "Old-Timey Christmas" from 1948 and it is one of my favorites for this year. Has a great beat and it is one that I also will be putting on You Tube with vintage pictures, which are taken from old greeting cards and other pictures available on the net. Augie Rios sings "Ol' Fatso" from 1958. I think it is cute. I always enjoy kids voices. Hope you do too. You may want to jump up and try it out with this one.

Sunday, December 7, 2008. A Wax and Acetate Christmas. Do you like old Christmas pictures? I know I do. I found a website that sells copies of Harper's Weekly and other old newspapers, which is where I found this lovely vintage picture. I put a link here to the website so you can get some of these pictures and maybe buy some of the antique publications. I hadn't until I met Ken Hamilton, who is a professional baker and makes these little pieces of edible art. They are beautiful! And they taste great!
