Friday, January 14, 2011. September 2010: Beaver's Bend, OK. Besides Jules' birthday in September, another highlight that month was our trip to Beaver's Bend State Park in Oklahoma. My parents treated all of us to a long weekend there and it was beautiful! We had so much fun kayaking and riding paddle boats on the lake. And just playing and relaxing! It was such a great trip! My brother's sweet girlfriend, Kathleen, came along too. Beaver's Bend was gorgeous in the fall and we can't wait to go back!

Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Juliana's first day of preschool. As one friend put it, my little birdie "flew the nest" this morning. Today was Juliana's first day of preschool! She was so excited and ready to go! She's been talking about this day for a long time. However, she hasn't flown too far from the nest because she's only going one day a week. She will still be with mommy a lot, which is good! As Jackson pointed out yesterday, "Wow! Now you will have both. Of us in school! Wednesday, August 24, 2011.

Tuesday, November 02, 2010. Jules' birthday was in September, so this post is way overdue, but I figure better late than never, right? We rented this monstrosity for our backyard. Which in the late summer heat, actually served as a giant sauna, but that didn't slow the kids down any! Jules had a Minnie Mouse party and I made these cookies for favors. I made her cake too. She was born Margaret Ruth Tarwater and went by Ruth, but to me, she was just "Grandma.". These are a few of my favorite pictures from her early life.
