A Solemn Pleasure: March 2010
http://asolemnpleasure.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Joy and grief were mingled in the cup; but there were no bitter tears: for even grief itself arose so softened, and clothed in such sweet and tender recollections, that it became a solemn pleasure, and lost all character of pain." Charles Dickens. Friday, March 26, 2010. These are the reflections of the first days; but when the lapse of time proves the reality of the evil, then the actual bitterness of grief commences. Joy and grief were mingled in the cup; but there were no bitter tears: for even grief itself arose so softened, and clothed in such sweet and tender recollections, that it became a solemn pleasure, and lost all character of pain." Charles Dickens. Sunday, May 2, 2010. It has been one year since I felt my William move for the last time inside my belly. It has been one year since I saw his still heart on the ultrasound monitor.
