We currently have dojo in Maryland (USA) and Grafenwoehr (Germany). Primarily, we study the Kokoro Ryu system of budo (weapons, jujutsu and kempo) and often host guest instructors from other gendai and koryu budo. The Dojo and Chuck Gordon, 2000-2008.

I can't stress it enough, the things I went through as a female budoka have nothing to do with the injuries, the injustices (changing in the broom closet because the men freaked out about my longline sport bra and bike shorts, which I politely wore under my clothes so I could change without disturbing anyone) the weirdness and stupid jokes, which, frankly, I was born and raised to turn back on anyone. Get better at those, get better at budo.

Monday, March 2, 2015. Sea Urchin Mitts (aka Garter Rib Fingerless Mittens). I came up with these garter stitch rib mitts, complete with thumb gusset. The recipient liked them a lot. Someone saw them and gave me another skein of Mini Mochi, and I made a second pair. We noticed that these look good whether they're worn right-side out or right-side in. The texture reminds us of sea urchins, and thus we are informally calling these the Sea Urchin Mitts. Sea Urchin mitts (right side out). Round 1: *k2, p1*.
