No Ducks and Bunnies. Chronicles of our attempts at Country Style Living in a 1904 farmhouse undergoing renovations. Friday, December 31, 2010. Work on the Studio Exterior (12-31-10). In retrospect, the hardest part of the project has been to find reliable contractors; in addition to Gary, this carpenter is the sixth contractor to work on the shed/studio. Maxine's BD: Gary Losing It (ca. 12-08)
http://maxinesbd.blogspot.com/2008/12/gary-losing-it-ca-12-08.html
An incisive and contemporary outlook on everyday life from a critically time-challenged and generally harried female perspective (blablablah.it's the site for my comics series). Saturday, December 13, 2008. Gary Losing It (ca. 12-08). I gotta admit: I really like these small thumbnail sketches of Gary losing his temper, because I think I really caught the expression right. I planned to use them as a reference if I ever worked on a comic story about one of his rare but spectacular outbursts.

Maxine's BD: Family Newsletter (02-13-11)
http://maxinesbd.blogspot.com/2011/02/family-newsletter-02-13-11.html
An incisive and contemporary outlook on everyday life from a critically time-challenged and generally harried female perspective (blablablah.it's the site for my comics series). Sunday, February 13, 2011. I decided to post the family newsletter we sent to friends and family at the end of November. The misadventures we've lived through in the last couple of years were easily adaptable to the comics format and were more entertaining to look at than a humdrum banal typed letter. The Vintage Flea Market was a great success! I wrote about it in some details on my No Ducks and Bunnies Vintage. Blog) I am now trying to make sense of the things I have brought back from the show. There are boxes all over the house, some I haven't even had a chance to open yet! Labels: Junk Salvation Flea Market.

No Ducks and Bunnies: Tree Fall (02-16-10)
http://noducksandbunnies.blogspot.com/2011/02/tree-fall-02-16-10.html
No Ducks and Bunnies. Chronicles of our attempts at Country Style Living in a 1904 farmhouse undergoing renovations. Wednesday, February 16, 2011. One of the flowering plum trees fell down the day before yesterday. It wasn't even terribly windy outside. It was one of the trees that framed the lovely Shade Garden, and I am not sure about what to do for a replacement (like, in case we unexpectedly come into money).lilacs, or even the cherry tree I got for my birthday? Maxine on the run. A repository for my artwork. Thursday, February 23, 2012. I went to Romano's Macaroni Grill with my friends Suzanne, and we had a nice time talking. Doing so, I drew this face; it's a bit distorted because I wasn't drawing it close to me, but almost at arm's length. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where are the comics? Maxine on the run. A repository for my artwork. Saturday, April 21, 2012. PDX Urban Sketchers at the Chinese Garden (04-21-21). The Portland Urban Sketchers. Met at the Lan Su Chinese Garden. As a group, to sketch or paint. As usual, I got there so late that I might as well have not bothered going (and that's exactly why I make myself go, even if late.). I was so late, that it was almost closing time, and a nice man at the gate let me in for free; he probably felt sorry for me. Where are the comics?

Maxine on the run: Crystal Springs (05-02-12)
http://maxine-on-the-run.blogspot.com/2012/05/crystal-springs-05-02-12.html
Maxine on the run. A repository for my artwork. Wednesday, May 2, 2012. I have driven through Eastmoreland for years, always wondering about Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens. I finally decided that since this was a day when the entry was free after 4 PM, I might as well put my inner questions about the place to rest. I can see color variations, shadows, etc., in a photo, but I struggle with real scenery. So I made a valiant effort, even though the result looks static. Where are the comics? Notes from...

Larksong Writing: March 2012
http://larksongwriting.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 10, 2012. A call to jury duty is an eye-opening experience. This week I was called up to jury duty. I would have to say it was a pretty interesting experience, although I wasn't actually seated on the jury. It was for an infant abuse-homicide case, and it turned out that they had called up about 90 potential jurors in order to seat ten (8 and 2 alternates.) I was in the third group of thirty. This post was originally written and posted by me on my Sparkpeople blog on this same date).

Yeah, and it looks like this will be another year when I am going to forget to cut them. so there will be fewer blooms altogether. Still, so lovely. Posted by The Competent Eclectic.
