Eat, Read, Run: January 2014
http://jenniechris.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Eat, Read, Run. In pursuit of the literary and the healthy. Wednesday, January 29, 2014. But we got as far as roasting the veggies and cooking the quinoa before giving up and eating leftovers. (Lunch for today, though! And of course, when I'm sick, I tend to either 1) not eat or 2) eat anything comforting for the sheer fact that it makes me feel marginally better for a few minutes. Yesterday, I even made a couple of recipes to use up old bananas, one a variation on these delicious muffin-tops. I swapped ...

Eat, Read, Run: the friend-bully
http://jenniechris.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-friend-bully.html
Eat, Read, Run. In pursuit of the literary and the healthy. Tuesday, March 18, 2014. I can't remember- my mom was furious and I was heartbroken. After that day, R was no longer my best friend, and I was left bereft. So in a weird way, thanks R for teaching me the nature of true friendship. While I'm sad to hear about how the echoes of that high school pain have reverberated through to your present, I hope you can also see that bullying comes in all shapes and sizes- but that it can also be fuel for g...

Eat, Read, Run: spring challenge
http://jenniechris.blogspot.com/2014/04/spring-challenge.html
Eat, Read, Run. In pursuit of the literary and the healthy. Monday, April 28, 2014. As readers of this blog know, I'm always a sucker for a challenge. I like the idea of setting forth to accomplish something- probably why I love running so much! And seeing where it takes me, even if I fail to fully meet my goals. So when barre3 announced their spring challenge. I was interested. But I wasn't immediately on board. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. 1 Eye at a Time. A Dress a Day.

Eat, Read, Run: November 2013
http://jenniechris.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Eat, Read, Run. In pursuit of the literary and the healthy. Thursday, November 14, 2013. Maybe it's because L is out of town. Maybe it's because I'm loving the strength I've gained and the feeling of healthfulness. Either way, it seems even though the barre3 fall challenge is officially over, I've been sticking with it, eating really well and exercising regularly, which is especially good since I run a half-marathon in over a week! I got a shout out on the official barre3. Sunday, November 10, 2013.

Eat, Read, Run: August 2013
http://jenniechris.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Eat, Read, Run. In pursuit of the literary and the healthy. Monday, August 05, 2013. Today is my 31st birthday. The day itself promises to be a little subdued, but only because we had a wild adventure over the weekend. To wit:. Sketchy-ass "winery" near Carthage that we said "no" to and drove away;. Where I ate a LOT of cheese;. Drinking champagne out of plastic cups while crammed in the backseat of a car;. Crocheting a bottle holder while drinking champagne out of plastic cups;. And, drinking wine/cider...

Eat, Read, Run: facebook-free
http://jenniechris.blogspot.com/2014/10/facebook-free.html
Eat, Read, Run. In pursuit of the literary and the healthy. Saturday, October 25, 2014. I'm reading good articles! Throughout the day when I need a "break," the same thing would occur with the same excuses. I had already taken the app off my phone (which was an excellent choice), and I was curious to see what ditching FB entirely would be like. It turns out to have been.freeing. I have been more focused on everything else, and I have not been sucked into drama. I have missed things friends ha...All this,...

Knitting stuff and going on and on.: Scarf instead of slippers.
http://ddrbroderick.blogspot.com/2007/06/scarf-instead-of-slippers.html
Knitting stuff and going on and on. Thursday, June 28, 2007. Scarf instead of slippers. I am still going on the slippers. They are a bit addictive so it's a good thing there are five little girls who want dancing slippers. My ISE 4 scarf finally made it to my pal Jenn. Now I can show it off and tell you the Saga of the Scarf. Fortunately Lynne of Threads in Time. Another couple of days of knitting this idea and that idea finally resulted in me. Cursing and crying in the corner. Which way it twists. But t...

Knitting Confidential: October 2006
http://knittingconfidential.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
A man's journey into the knitting world. Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Discounting time lost to waiting for minor repairs, I knitted my first scarf. In about a week. At the rate I'm progressing on my second scarf, it'll be done faster than that. The zone exists for knitting too. I got in it on Thursday and Friday. I knitted a fair amount on Thursday night, but it was nothing compared to Friday morning. My second scarf was already two feet long! I couldn't find a great link describing it- you'll have to look...

Knitting Confidential: March 2007
http://knittingconfidential.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
A man's journey into the knitting world. Saturday, March 31, 2007. I also realize that if I do cut the FO, I need to cut all the way through it. I don't know if I have the heart to do that. It was hard enough puncturing the holder with the US 11s and feeling as though I was ruining my work. The good news is that I know what I'm doing, sort of. I suppose I just need to have more confidence in myself. On that note, Donna posted something on her blog. Since I couldn't find any patterns I liked for a cat mat...
