Oh, hey there. Yeah, i know, it's been a while. I figured it was time to dust off the old blog. Stuff is happening that i want record of. Stuff like my baby turning two. She is the spunkiest little spunk there ever was. She walks likes she's got places to go and people to see. She unexpectedly squeezes my bum, and says {with a giggle} " PEACHES. She is joy, personified. It's hard to imagine our family without her. She was the final puzzle piece in the mortensen family puzzle. March 19, 2013 at 11:00 PM.

Little me, circa 1980}. On the eve of my 36th birthday,. Here are a few things i've learned in my 36 years on the planet. I certainly don't have it all figured out. But sometimes it's nice to write down the things you maybe, kinda, sorta have some experience with. And then, build from there. 1 spend less time worrying about what others think of you. Your time and energy are better spent on other things. 2 paint your nails. You'll just feel prettier. 3 give people the benefit of the doubt. 11 less is more.

And then, everything changed. At this very moment, eight years ago, i was gazing with wonder at the tiny gift i held in my arms. Nothing could have prepared me for what i would feel. Completely and totally overwhelmed with love, gratitude and humility. And now, eight years later, that { not-so-tiny. Gift continues to amaze me. She is compassionate, kind, considerate, generous, talented and smart as a whip. The universe has grand plans for her, i just know it. And i am confident she is up to the task.

Thursday, December 18, 2008. What a total blast! We took the kids sleigh riding while we were up north this past weekend. We have not had that much fun in a long time! The kids were in heaven as you can see! Kennedy won the award for riding in style! Kort won the award for the best snowboarder and hardest fall! And poor Kylee won the trophy for the biggest biff rolling probably twenty times in a row down the very steap hill after she hit Korts jump and lost her tube! Angee and Jayden Leishman.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011. The first day our friend Scott flew over from Honolulu and took us to around. First we went to Kipuu Falls. You walk through a jungle for about 10 minutes and then you get to these water falls. I am terrified of heights (anyone remember the pools of hana experience? So I hung out and watched them jump off into the murky water below and swing off the rope swing. Then we got in the car and drove to Waimea Canyon. It was a long drive up into the clouds, but so worth the view.
