overseas: January 2009
http://the-oltremare.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. David, 6 days. We had a good morning today. Last night I slept for more than 4 hours, and this morning David has been either alert, eating, or sleeping; not too much frustrating in-between of crying or fussing. We even danced around listening to Jack Johnson for a while. Happy times. . Monday, January 26, 2009. A whole new life. Me and my David. We had our baby! More to come soon. . . Tuesday, January 20, 2009. I can't figure out why this baby isn't here yet. I've been di...

Monday, November 23, 2009. See ya round :). So i think i'm officially shutting this blog down. I don't have enough time or energy to share anything in depth anymore. I always feel like it's neglected, so it may as well just go the way of so many other blogs. . . I'm plenty of other places on the web, so I doubt you'll miss me. Facebook is where I post family and baby photos (my profile is Katharine Licht), my flickr. And of course there's twitter. Thanks for reading, it was fun while it lasted!
overseas: August 2008
http://the-oltremare.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Last week of august. Some other random things:. Last night I had a dream I was trying to construct a miniature of Frank Gehry's Pritzker Pavillion (see below) out of frozen yogurt. It was going pretty well if you can believe it. I also dreamt that Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum were time travelling robots from the future. Both of these things have made me smile throughout the day. Monday, August 25, 2008. Door county and milwaukee, august 2008. On our sheep farm tour! Then tomorrow, ...

Monday, March 30, 2009. This is important as the back of David's head seems to be getting flatter. . Things have been going extremely well lately. It's actually a shame, since just as everything has fallen into place, I'll be going back to work soon. . I can't imagine that I could have more conflicted feelings about going back to work. There's a large part of me that can't wait to get back: to see my friends, to have adult interaction again, and even just to work again. I miss designing! Pug in a boppy.

http://liketheviolin.blogspot.com/2008/11/i-looked-through-all-my-photos-from.html
I guess most are here for no apparent reason other than that they made me feel soft, warm and/ or melancholic inside. So here they are . some photos from 2004, chosen by nothing other than feelings in my stomach. All taken with my dear Nikon Coolpix 2100 (those were the days! Jag gillar den nedersta bäst, visst har du fler från samma tillfälle där en flicka springer upp för trappan? Jag önskar att jag tog kort. November 17, 2008 at 1:34 PM. Deciduous Trees Restock: Our mutual mural dislike
http://deciduoustreesrestock.blogspot.com/2011/02/our-mutual-mural-dislike.html
Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Our mutual mural dislike. I'll explain it like this: most of the dishes on the menu seem alright, but for one (or two) ingredients that are totally offputting. Arugula, baby beets, goat cheese, candied pecans, and dressing? Oh, with a poached egg? I cannot wait for the poached egg trend to fizzle, let me tell you. Scrambled, fried, even over-medium - fine. Poached eggs have the texture of mucous. Is what I would have liked to think. Instead, I thought,. Means in which they do.
like the violin: my hand
http://liketheviolin.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-hand.html
Some of you may not have heard what it is I do right now, so I'll just say it again: I'm taking a break from the university (something I hear is rather unusual in other countries (? But very common in Sweden; I don't think I know of anyone who didn't take a break in their studies to do something else for a while) to go to art school for beginners this spring. I needed to slow down. A lot. And allow myself to feel that I don't have to sing one single note if I don't feel like it. This is my hand! Hm, den ...
like the violin: a busy week & frosty leaves
http://liketheviolin.blogspot.com/2008/11/busy-week-frosty-leaves.html
A busy week and frosty leaves. It's been a busy week! From nothing to hundred over one night. I've been teaching singing at a high school in Kungälv (part of my education) all day, and in the nights we've been recording a CD with my choir. I know recording sounds like a lot of fun but basically it's just hours and hours of really hard work. It's fun afterwards. Though. Recording in a studio like I do with Sebastian is easier . and requires much fewer takes! What else to say? Three weeks until Advent....

http://liketheviolin.blogspot.com/2009/01/en-timme-till.html
Just wanted to show you this page I made today about one of my smartest decisions ever. :). About a week ago I decided to not spend more then fifteen minutes a day in front of the computer on weekdays. Check my e-mail, flickr, blogs and facebook every five minutes. Play minesweeper and chain factor. Click around and follow links I wasn't even interested in. TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS EVERY DAY. And all of this just because I got one more hour - an hour that I didn't even know was there before.". See ya round :).

I have been taking some seriously good photos lately, and you really should get over to the photo blog. To check them out. (And I'd be really happy if you would write something in the guestbook, too. (The guestbook works in English! In other news: Weekend, I'm happy, I'm taking up driving lessons (it's been a year since I tried last time) next week and am super scared, I'm looking forward to seven movies at the film festival starting this weekend. I got my copy of the Portals zine. And then: I am. Classi...

I've been away for ages, and for the usual reasons, too: sickness and stress. But today I have some BRILLIANT news: It's Christmas! Good things about Christmas:. 1 I get to spend a lot of time rejoicing in the fact that Jesus is born, and I am saved. Sweet. I have two weeks of nothingness in front of me! A couple of family dinners, singing in church (4th of January if you can make it) and a New Year's Eve party is basically all I have planned. So if you want a fika, just let me know! Och jag har suttit i...

In other news . I forgot something in the good things list yesterday . These photos are from the other week but it still makes me happy to look at them and know that some people actually DO something. Hilarious, Fältbiologerna! Tack för att du förklarade detta, jag trodde det var sant när jag såg dem =). December 11, 2008 at 11:24 PM. Det som står är ju sant? December 12, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Är det nu jag missuppfattar. I just found out that Terenche Blanchard will be playing with the Herbie Hancock Sextet at the concert on Monday. OMG! I was a little excited for Herbie (the concert is sold out and was bound to be cool either way), but this! If you need to know, this. Is how I felt about a tune of his a while ago.). Life with the Olsons
Life with the Olsons. Josh, Heather, Trey, and Tessa. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Washington D.C. and NYC Trip. As many of you know or if you read my previous post Josh and I were given the amazing opportunity to go to Washington D.C. and NYC! Josh's little brother got married in the D.C. temple so his mom thought it was a perfect excuse to do a little sight seeing! Well, we didn't just do a little we did tons! We actually arrived in D.C. the day of Obama's. Seriously I didn't think that many even existed.
