A Viking Education: On-the-spot metaphors
http://vikingeducation.blogspot.com/2014/03/on-spot-metaphors.html
Taking my love of learning and passing the passion on to my Vikings. Monday, March 10, 2014. I often find myself trying to come up with a concrete and/or parallel way to explain something or describe a concept to the Vikings. I'm sure lots of moms are in the same boat. However, with my husband working in a nuclear plant, there is a LOT of technical jargon that gets thrown around the dinner table and the kids are simply trying to keep up with what Daddy does all day (or all night). So, this morning after ...

A Viking Education: A Sunday revelation
http://vikingeducation.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-sunday-revelation.html
Taking my love of learning and passing the passion on to my Vikings. Sunday, February 23, 2014. Found this online. Very timing and speaks to an area with which I need help. My Identity in Jesus Christ. John 1:12 - I am a child of God (Romans 8:16). John 15:1,5 - I am a part of the true vine, a channel (branch) of His Life. John 15:15 - I am Christ’s friend. John 15:16 - I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit. Acts 1:8 - I am a personal witness of Christ for Christ. Romans 11:16 - I am holy.

A Viking Education: A good week.
http://vikingeducation.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-good-week.html
Taking my love of learning and passing the passion on to my Vikings. Friday, February 28, 2014. A glimmer of hope. A glimpse of improvement. But, ya know what? I didn't yell. ALL week! Well, I raised my voice yesterday in frustration at Flicka for he whining about what work I did ask her to do but that was more about her attitude than about school per se. Modern medicine is a wonderful thing. LOL. For the first time in several years, I've started enjoying this momma thing again. March 5, 2014 at 8:10 AM.

A Viking Education: Over it.
http://vikingeducation.blogspot.com/2014/02/over-it.html
Taking my love of learning and passing the passion on to my Vikings. Tuesday, February 25, 2014. I'm bored with our curriculum. There I've said it. The curriculum that I so carefully researched and prayed about. The one I was sure was a *perfect* fit. I'm still done with it. I have 8-9 more weeks of school and I'm over it. I love American history and I'm still over it. And, the curriculum sales will start in about a week. Buy in March and get 40% off! Buy in April and get 30% off! But, again, it's all ab...

A Viking Education: And, that's a wrap, folks!
http://vikingeducation.blogspot.com/2014/03/and-thats-wrap-folks.html
Taking my love of learning and passing the passion on to my Vikings. Wednesday, March 5, 2014. And, that's a wrap, folks! There's a bit of an occasion here this week. Our own March madness. It's birthday week for Flicka and I! And, while we generally don't do "spring break", I've always given the kids the day off from homeschool for their birthday. Since my birthday falls tomorrow (Thursday) and Flicka's is Sunday, we'll "observe" hers on Friday and take the rest of the week off for a long weekend! Aweso...

This humble blog page welcomes comments! Monday, June 23, 2014. Garden June 23, 2014. Im coming to your house if the zombie apocalypse hits California. So heres my completely ignorant question for the day:. What does the straw around the tomato plants do? The garden looks great.but no watermelons? Doesnt every garden need watermelons? Skyepuppy, Ive seen certain videos from your state that suggest the apocalypse is well under way. Ill be serving tomatoes with every meal starting at the end of July.

http://malottblog.blogspot.com/2005/12/anti-war-legacy-there-is-line-in-movie.html
This humble blog page welcomes comments! Sunday, December 04, 2005. There is a line in the movie "Patton" that I think applies today. The general is standing before troops who will soon be sent into battle and he says, "Thirty years from now, when you're sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee and he asks you, "What did you do in the great World War II," you won't have to say, "Well. I shoveled sh in Louisiana.". These amazing accomplishments of George Bush and the American Military ...
