Or how did I get my nick name? This all happened about 7 years ago. Reto's little niece Lara could not pronounce Marjolijn (just like all the other people living outside of Holland or Belgium). She started calling me Main (this is pronounced Mine - just to confuse you English speakers). Soon all my in-laws were calling me Main. Reto was one of the first to adapt. he never really got the hang of Marjolijn either (shame on him! Then my sister started using it as well. So we can all blame it on Lara!

Main and her family were on holiday in the USA from 23 July till 10 August 2007. You can read about it here. What I liked best was the South San Francisco City Hall. Very pretty building. After about an hour we were back in our hotel room and the kids watched TV, while Reto read the online news and I had a nap. We just had dinner in our hotel and I had a full slab of rib and they were YUMMY! The kids enjoyed their Mac and Cheesy Noodles and Reto had a very good enchillada. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

They are no longer an endangered species, isn't that great? It was circling and circling in the sky. And today, we saw a coyote! How cool is that! It crossed a small road right in front of us. I was hoping to see a whale too, today. but you can't have it all. ;-). We drove further (Sandi did all the driving today....

Yesterday, Reto and I set off at 07.00 to drive to Grants Pass. It was foggy and cool. The drive was beautiful. We drove the Redwood Avenue (passed Redwood National Park) up to where it stopped and we saw plenty of big Redwood trees. We had seen the first ones in Rudy and Vicky's garden already, btw. Main and her family were on holiday in the USA from 23 July till 10 August 2007. You can read about it here. We had a great great lazy afternoon. We were at the swimming pool all the time. Beautiful, big swimming pool and for the first hour or so, we were the only ones there. The water in the swimming pool was warm and the kids must have been in there for 3 hours or so!
