The Daily Dope: 3/8/09 - 3/15/09

Your Soul Searching Fix Found Only on the Open Roads of the Great American Oil Field. Friday, March 13, 2009. Is not as bad as we all think. There were other changes today. After wallowing in self-pity, Citibank stocks are hovering around $3.00 a share, yet they now are refusing government aid. So where is all that pre-approved bailout money going to go? All this change has got me saving my pennies. A toast to change.because without change there would be nothing to save. Links to this post. Bottom Hole A...

Your Soul Searching Fix Found Only on the Open Roads of the Great American Oil Field. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Hot patch in the oilfield. Besides Texas, there is more active drilling in Northern Louisiana than any other area in the US.but the Northeast's Marcellus Shale is nipping at their heals (more to come on the Marcellus later in the week). The official colors of Louisiana are prbably purple and gold thanks to the LSU Tigers but let's take a look at the pervasive red. Agrees. With natural gas s...

Your Soul Searching Fix Found Only on the Open Roads of the Great American Oil Field. Thursday, July 2, 2009. Good morning, America. At the dawn of our 233rd anniversary as a free and independent nation, I would like to take this moment to give you a snapshot of the America I have experienced this past week. Also, this man is now the Minesota state Senator. California, the Terminator is offering IOU's. Stock up, judgement day is coming. Our Media is developing a banal story about Obama's evil eye. It's n...

Jackie's Corner Table: May 2009
http://jackiescornertable.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2009. The piece de resistance: Momofuku Ko. What kind of restaurant doesn’t have a phone? Or at least claims it does not have one). A good one. What kind of restaurant stays alive with only 24 patrons a night? A great one. What kind of restaurant has a chef that consistently wins awards, yet still works in your face with only two other people helping out? Foie Gras, Riesling jelly, lychees, peanut brittle. Am I the only one on earth that doesn’t like this dish? Snapper – so I had ...

The Daily Dope: GIMME Some, home slice
http://yourdailydope.blogspot.com/2009/06/gimme-some-home-slice.html
Your Soul Searching Fix Found Only on the Open Roads of the Great American Oil Field. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. GIMME Some, home slice. Recently talk radio and the general internet media or GIM as I like to call it, has been discussing who is the leader of the republican party. Some say Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, The Chairman of the RNC, Lousiana Governor Bobby Jindal. But I would like to share a brief article from the CNN. My favorite part is this:. If that quote doesn't scream. Hi I'm Richard Bruce "Dic...

Your Soul Searching Fix Found Only on the Open Roads of the Great American Oil Field. Thursday, March 5, 2009. Taking it to the Man. At $30.00 /barrel most Americans have not had to worry about filling up at the pump lately, compared to one year ago when some parts of the country were paying $4.50/gallon. I guess the public is really taking it to the man these days. But I've got to tell you. I am the man. As Pacino said, "You need people like me! Links to this post. Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Jackie's Corner Table: April 2009
http://jackiescornertable.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2009. I always tell people that it is un-New York to not eat sushi. It’s my little way of getting back at the people who tell me it’s un-American to not eat ice cream (which I do not like). What are the best sushi places in NYC? Probably the ones I cannot afford to go to…. Citysearch has an interesting list. With Blue Ribbon coming in a strong 4. Most of these places have been in NYMag’s list. I had only been to Blue Ribbon Sushi. I know body builders love them, why shouldn’t I?

Jackie's Corner Table: Ninety Acres
http://jackiescornertable.blogspot.com/2010/01/ninety-acres.html
Friday, January 15, 2010. Out in a quaint little town in New Jersey, a young man had a dream. His dream was to build an enormous ranch style farm-to-table restaurant pushed back from the road for the entire town to marvel. Ok, maybe I made some parts of that up. Ninety Acres. Might be set far back from a quiet road, but it’s one of the many indulgences of Sir Richard Branson. (I have to add that the website is crazy fancy). Salad – greens, cauliflower, apples, vinegar, manchego. There were quie...I don&#...

Jackie's Corner Table: July 2009

Saturday, July 18, 2009. Very impressive in itself. Trio of Crudo: In general, if you need a like pre-appetizer, crudo is the way to go. We tried the trio because, being us, we can not decide on one thing, and aren’t interested in being confined to things like… dishes or… price. So, we got the trio (which in actuality wasn’t overpriced). Branzino with caviar. We got this because we never get sea bass crudo. It was unimpressive and lacked taste. I don’t suggest getting this. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Onto t...
