Lucy is a little bit young to develop too many habits other than that the Pooh bear she loves so much has to go with her, if she falls over or is ill she wants him, how I wish I had a spare. The lawn is immense, newly mown, the greenhouse is huge and filled with tomatoes that seem to me like beanstalks. The house is a treasure trove filled to the brim with game and cards and the sound of a new bottle of cherryade being opened as well as my favourite salt and vinegar chip sticks. His clothes smart, of the time but almost uniform, they don’t mark him out as different. But he is, but nobody knows. As she floored the accelerator rushing away from the awful scene before her she realised that maybe that was true.
