Eloise and I became fast friends. I gradually became well enough to get out of bed, and now we have much fun. We ride horses, or picnic on the lustrous lawn. In the evenings, we'd join the Comtesse and watch her knit by the warm, glowing fire. I've grown to like, or even something. I've grown to love the castle.

It's okay, because a boy named Zhan-pole (we call him Beanpole) rescued us. We decided to take him along on our journey; he knew the land well.
