Aquabike #1 | The Academic Athlete
https://theacademicathlete.wordpress.com/2013/04/27/aquabike-1
Chasing tenure, PR's, and sanity…. Isn’t This Fancy? April 27, 2013. Today was Aquabike #1 of the year. I got a pretty medal for my efforts, but the bottom line is that there is very little I am happy about with today’s whole performance. After I was done, I said to my husband that nothing felt good about it. Were there positives? Yes Am I happy about them? No Welcome to life with me. Mostly I’m just disappointed because I know I could have done better. I feel like I should have done better. I won’...

Chasing tenure, PR's, and sanity…. Ft Benning Reverse Sprint Triathlon. Vacation, Had to Get Away →. Blalock Lakes Aquabike, 6/1/13. June 3, 2013. I had two goals for this race:. 2 Get a cheesy race shot. I made it in strong on the swim, albeit with a massive side cramp. I don’t know why. I grabbed my bike, took a deep breath and took off. I did manage to pull off a thumbs up pose when I went by the photog a second time, and hopefully a big cheesy grin. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Follow &ldq...

Chasing tenure, PR's, and sanity…. Peachtree City Sprint Tri, 8/17/13. 2013 Year in Review →. John Tanner Aquabike #2. September 18, 2013. Last weekend was my final du/tri race of the season, unless I get a wild hair to do another. We returned to John Tanner State Park. For the final race of the “ Tri the Parks. Thank you to Kenny for the pictures! 8221; I got a good pace and rhythm going right away, passed a bunch of people, and made it out to the first turn bouy quicker than I thought I would. So that&...

Chasing tenure, PR's, and sanity…. Newer posts →. Training for Another Tri…. August 12, 2013. It’s official. I’m hooked. I really wanted to try to do an Olympic distance triathlon this year, but schedules and traveling and dates just aren’t lining up. To console myself, I found another sprint triathlon close to home, and signed up for that. Thusly, I hit PT one or two times a week now. I’m a little sad that I don’t get any fun things like e-stim, but I do usually get an ultrasound. An...This triathlon wi...

Tuesday, May 19, 2015. RANDOM ACTS OF BLOGGING. 2) Last week I had to go have a crown replaced. Lots of fun, that! Heh, no, not really. It's something my dentist has been wanting to do for a while, but only just recently decided to follow though on. Apparently, my old crown had not been made correctly, or maybe it had degraded? I did explain that to the lady at the front desk, so let's hope that trickled back to the other folks! I don't feel anything! But then everything got very, very bright. I didn...

Thursday, October 30, 2014. A QUICKY: FOOT IN MOUTH. FOOT DEEP, DEEP IN MOUTH. This happened on Monday and I'm still cringing. I'm really no stranger to speaking before my brain fully engages. You all know this. I hold up the letter and said "Do you think that a defibrillator would be a good investment for the church? I'm just awful sometimes. Monday, October 27, 2014. Tuesday, August 04, 2015. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I need to find a thing. Something to get involved in! I know people think I have a million hobbies, and I guess I kind of do, but lately nothing I have has been interesting me. I've literally had times where I've been sitting at home trying to think of something to do and all I get is internal white noise! Seriously, I hope I find something soon. The only thing I've done lately is make questionable decisions! Greg's Lack of Creativity.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. VISITING ALL THE DOCTORS! I'm so tired of going to the doctor. I mean, I'm glad that there are doctors out there that can basically digitally peel you apart and see what is going on inside of you, and I'm glad that I have access to those doctors, but I feel like I've had more than my fair share of them this year. I'm testing something out, here. We're fine. We're all fine here, now. Thank you. How are you? Tuesday, April 21, 2015. You guys, I have a problem. I can't help it. ...

Tuesday, March 17, 2015. RANDOM ACTS OF BLOGGING. I honestly think it is the host I like to listen to. His name is Peter Barakan, and his voice is so darn soothing. I won't necessarily recommend these videos to you, but if you are ever bored, you can always learn the history of ramen noodles! I thought that would be all I had to do, but they said I also had to do a sort of pared down stress test. I was ok with that, since I figured it was just walking on a treadmill. I do that all the time! RANDOM ACTS O...
What Now: November 2014
http://taebelle.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Last night, we lost our 13 year old yellow lab, Butler. We got him a year after we got married, and we've loved him so much. I knew the time was coming sooner than later, and I tried to prepare myself, but I honestly didn't expect it to happen the way it did. There are a lot of people who will not understand why we are so upset. They will think: he's just a dog. He was never just a dog to me. He never will be. I loved him more than I can explain. It hurts. Hyperbole and a Half.

Monday, August 31, 2015. I'm not so vain as to think that everything I say or ask might be important, but it's just good manners to at least acknowledge that a person has said something, you know? I cannot abide that kind of rudeness, and it is most definitely, really damn rude. I am so irritated. Tuesday, August 25, 2015. RANDOM ACTS OF BLOGGING. I didn't want to open a word file and write in it, because I don't let people read things I write, (not, like, story stuff. You are welcome to read this! 3) Sp...
What Now: July 2015
http://taebelle.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Is it wrong that I get irritated when people pigeonhole me? I know not everyone can know everything about another person, but it really bothers me when people assume I only have one facet of my personality and that's all they will talk about with me. But people who have known me for any length of time and refuse to see me as anything other than the one thing they've pegged me as? I'm an effing, shiny diamond, y'all! That was an weird little rant, wasn't it? Monday, July 20, 2015.
What Now: HELLO FRESH!
http://taebelle.blogspot.com/2015/08/hello-fresh.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. I can also bake things, as long as it doesn't require yeast. However, when I cook (I don't very much anymore, poor Steve) my meals don't have very much variation. St. Martha Stewart (genuflect) would definitely be horrified. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, the lovely and wonderful Sara Watson gave me a code so that I could receive a week of free meals from an outfit she is a member of called HelloFresh. I'm glad I was at home! Cooking with real food-things is a process! It was als...

The Academic Athlete | Chasing tenure, PR's, and sanity…
Chasing tenure, PR's, and sanity…. 2013 Year in Review. January 3, 2014. In effort to be a better (read: more consistent) blogger, I thought it might be good to start the new year off with reflections on the highlights of the past year. Normally I’d do one for each month, but I honestly don’t remember everything from every month. Thus, this will truly be a highlight post! February is one of those months that I don’t really remember. I attended the IACS Summit on Communication and Sport. And that was fun.
