Just another WordPress.com site. The Battle of the Butternut. Here I am, licking my wounds, after a long and hard-fought battle against the most unwilling of vegetables: the butternut. At one point it appeared the intrepid cook had been outsmarted by the feisty squash when it took hold of the chopping knife and held it hostage. But I’m proud to report that perseverance paid off and the final score was Claire 1, Butternut 0. Why is it that the yummiest of veggies and fruits are the toughest to prepare?
