The Accidental Gardener

Wednesday, August 29, 2007. In planning my garden layout. I'm thinking my gardens need an overhaul from the raging heat spells we had this year, a weird short period of drought, my neglect, weeds taller than a building, 71 pound dog running rampant, etc etc etc. The fruits of little labor. So i bought a house. and the house has a garden. and i have a black thumb determined to be green. with a devious dog hellbent on destroying the universe (or at least our gardens). so we shall who wins this war. Friday, June 01, 2007. I almost peed my pants. And freaked out so many times in the span of 30 minutes that i KNOW i did some damage to my heart. Well, no, not that cute. i almost peed my pants. this is what i saw. Even knowing it was there, i still freaked out a little when i stepped outside to s...

Saturday, June 16, 2007. And the bellflowers are still blooming, the veronica is doing okay in the clay-like soil, the near dead violas are reviving, and the dog ran over my peony plant. I think i might try to transplant the peony. any suggestions of how and when? Awww no more Pookie.

So i bought a house. and the house has a garden. and i have a black thumb determined to be green. with a devious dog hellbent on destroying the universe (or at least our gardens). so we shall who wins this war. Wednesday, May 09, 2007. Tomorrow i shall go to the garden and weed my jungle prickers that have grown up to my knees when the soil is softer. Tomorrow i shall spread my germinated seeds in the garden. Tomorrow i shall see what kind of plants have sprouted where, and play with the worms in the dirt.

The Accidental Gardener: the fruits of little labor

So i bought a house. and the house has a garden. and i have a black thumb determined to be green. with a devious dog hellbent on destroying the universe (or at least our gardens). so we shall who wins this war. Wednesday, August 29, 2007. The fruits of little labor. My poor, neglected garden, i vow to make it better next summer. As i was hacking through the 3 foot weeds and starts of trees this past weekend, this is what i found:. Some sort of morning glory or other vine is crawling up my fence. And it's...

So i bought a house. and the house has a garden. and i have a black thumb determined to be green. with a devious dog hellbent on destroying the universe (or at least our gardens). so we shall who wins this war. Sunday, June 04, 2006. Lesson learned # 1: mint. Thanks to mother nature, i now have a mint garden. Last year this was not here. in fact, the almost 3 years i have been here it was not here. My war bound strategy:. 1 i tried to cut it back. but it grew back. You'll never win with mint since it sen...

Garden in the Redwoods: May 2007

http://redwoodgarden.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Garden in the Redwoods. Tuesday, May 01, 2007. I finished my planting yesterday, April 30th, except for the last few tomatoes, which are still too small to put out. I don't have my map drawn out yet, but when I do I will insert it here. In the top three boxes I have snow peas, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, Delicata squash, bush beans, onions, lettuce, carrots, beets, chard and broccoli rabe. In the second row of boxes I have summer squash, garlic, peppers, and shallots. Elephant Garlic "ala supermarket".

Hagedagbok fra parsellen i Bergen: Fra terrassen. Og tomater!

http://parsellen.blogspot.com/2007/07/fra-terrassen-og-tomater.html

http://parsellen.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

http://parsellen.blogspot.com/2013/04/bratt-slutt.html

http://parsellen.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

http://parsellen.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

http://parsellen.blogspot.com/2007/06/hagebesk-hos-josefin-i-juni.html

Hagebesøk hos josefin i juni.
