Life to the Fullest. Monday, March 4, 2013. Nursery- Before and After. For the last several months, Nick and I have been working on the nursery. We knew we wanted something fairly neutral and calm. We both love the way that it turned out! Before we get to the good stuff, here are some before pictures. Just keeping it real- this room was pretty much a junk room/ storage space up until Christmas break when we finally cleared it out and painted. Before- no closet doors, bright blue inside closet. View my co...

Life to the Fullest: Pregnancy Progress
http://thescheuers.blogspot.com/2013/02/pregnancy-progress.html
Life to the Fullest. Tuesday, February 19, 2013. So, now that I am almost at the end of this pregnancy, I decided to go back and document it a little bit. I can honestly say that I have loved being pregnant and I think I will really miss it! I have tried to really enjoy each stage for what it is. Warning- this will be long! It's a lot of work to grow a baby! I also started getting up a lot in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, which became very common. I could still wear all my regular clot...

Life to the Fullest: Grayson Highlands
http://thescheuers.blogspot.com/2013/02/grayson-highlands.html
Life to the Fullest. Sunday, February 17, 2013. All the way back in December Nick and I decided to go backpacking at Grayson Highlands in Virginia. We wanted to celebrate Nick's birthday and also enjoy one more backpacking trip before we welcome our baby girl. The weather was perfect and we had the best time being together and enjoying one of our favorite places. We saw the wild ponies that live up on the mountain. They just roam around. Nick got close enough to feed them. February 17, 2013 at 7:20 PM.

Life to the Fullest. Thursday, December 15, 2011. Thanksgiving at the Farm. This year Nick and I were able to spend part of Thanksgiving day on my grandparents farm in Walburg, NC. They purchased the land and built their house when I was young and we have so many great memories of the farm. Over the years Papa and Grams have had cows, sheep, a donkey, chickens and a rooster among other things! A few of the sheep- over the years we have been able to hold the baby lambs in the spring- so cool! One great th...

Life to the Fullest. Sunday, December 9, 2012. Towards the end of October, Nick had a conference on Ocracoke Island. I decided to tag along and we planned on staying a few extra days after the conference. Our inn was simple and quaint, perfect for what we needed with a beautiful view of the marina. Everything in the village was within walking distance. Sunrise over the marina. Walkway to the beach- from this point on the island you could see both the ocean and the sound. The beach was endless! Back in Se...

Life to the Fullest: September 2012
http://thescheuers.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Life to the Fullest. Friday, September 7, 2012. This post is WAY overdue, seeing as we went to the beach at the end of July! We have had a lot going on, to say the least (more on that later! But I have not completely given up on the blog. The forecast one day was for lots of rain so Nick and I decided to join his parents on a day trip to Charleston. It is such a beautiful city and we had the best time exploring. Wouldn't you love to live here? We had a wonderful lunch at Husk- highly recommend it!

Life to the Fullest: October 2012
http://thescheuers.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Life to the Fullest. Sunday, October 21, 2012. We went for the ultrasound on Thursday morning. By that point I was pretty sure the baby was a boy. I'm not sure why I felt that way, but I did. When the ultrasound tech said "girl! We were both shocked! We are thrilled and so thankful for a healthy baby girl! As my dad said when I called to tell him "we know what to do with girls around here." I am amazed by how well you can see her sweet face. I pretty much cried all day on Thursday- happy tears of course!

Life to the Fullest. Sunday, June 24, 2012. New River Canoe Trip. We packed a lunch and headed out. The river was fast moving thanks to all the rain we had recently. Our picnic spot was right in the middle of the river- we tied up the canoes and climbed on some downed trees. We went with Luke and Taylor and Houston and Sara- such a fun group! We split up the meals and had great food the whole weekend. Here is Nick and I cooking breakfast-. Such a nice way to spend the afternoon! Let's do it again soon!

Life to the Fullest. Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Most of the group- Happy 2012! More sights from our walk-. Another highlight of the weekend was the endless cornhole playing. Taylor and Luke made this set for her parents and we put it to good use! Turns out Tay and I made an awesome team (who knew! And had the longest winning streak! Please excuse our un-showered selves :). Their house is a quick walk to the beach, so we were able to catch an amazing sunset on Saturday night- the last one of 2011!
