I am going to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre on June 9th to see the ballet "The Last Emporer" - but today I have been watching videos of Chinese Dancing. Since reading the book "Mao's Last Dancer" and seeing the movie several times, I have learned so much about the wonderful training and quality of dance in China. Many readers will be familiar with the iconic ballet "Swan Lake" - watch the video below and see how the Chinese do it.

I remember being in Tiananmen Square in 2010 and a cold chill running through my body as I recalled the images in the press of that awful day. Let it not be forgotten. Earlier I promised to post a range of photos showing shop fronts. I defy anyone who has no Chinese to identify these shops. Hint: most of them are restaurants and liquor/gift stores. I've been taking photos of flowers for a long time - so thought I'd post them here for all to see. Friday, 20 December 2013. I hadn't noticed it growing - in part because I usually park in another part of the car park where volunteers at the Caboolture Historical Village usually park their cars. However, the other day I saw a plant - clearly the seed had arrived by the wind or a bird, and the plant had grown to nearly five feet tall. The lovely flower on the top is below. Each country/culture has its own way of using flowers - and in China flowers are cultivated in pots often and then used in amazing displays.
