The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step – Lao Tzu. South China Morning Post. Yepso one word (that looks the same) has different meanings depending on its tone/sound. Funny enough though no matter which one you learn you will inevitably pick up a lot of Cantonese words, so maybe it’s easier learning Cantonese?
