The View From Here: A New Challenge
http://theviewfromhere-spidey.blogspot.com/2011/05/new-challenge.html
The View From Here. Monday, May 23, 2011. It was a cold morning, but definitely better than the one in Williams, AZ. I kept comparing Angel Fire to Williams and it might just be me but I think it was warmer in Angel Fire the whole way through. We had breakfast in the same building that we had eaten dinner in the night before. The rider's meeting was just outside the door in a parking lot. We paraded through Trinidad, where we used to get fuel years ago. However, the people there did not think that wa...

The View From Here: Day 6: The Run Begins (California-Arizona)
http://theviewfromhere-spidey.blogspot.com/2011/05/day-5-run-begins-california-arizona.html
The View From Here. Thursday, May 19, 2011. Day 6: The Run Begins (California-Arizona). We got up at five this morning so we could get packed up and be at the daily mandatory rider’s meeting by six. We were lost for a while, until we found someone who knew where to go. It was lightly raining and very cloudy. We got breakfast, free at the meeting, and talked while people got the meeting ready. Our first stop brought back a few memories. The bikes lined up into a huge parking lot, sorted by platoons...

The View From Here: Day 8: Angel Fire (New Mexico)
http://theviewfromhere-spidey.blogspot.com/2011/05/day-8-angel-fire-new-mexico.html
The View From Here. Friday, May 20, 2011. Day 8: Angel Fire (New Mexico). The meeting went about as usual. When we took off, it was not as cold as previous mornings. New Mexico was doing its best to be warm but the clouds that had covered the sky yesterday followed us today as well. We continued into Albuquerque and turned North. We now took a different route than the one we had used to get to the Run and eventually ended up at the Camel Rock Casino, where we had lunch. As soon as we reached the memorial...

The View From Here: September 2012

The View From Here. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. I'm getting a Harley! Well, it's been in the making for quite a while now (over a year, I think) but it's now official: I am getting a 2005 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster! However, the bike is in Wyoming. The hard part has been trying to figure out a way to bring it home in Colorado. For over a year we have made a few plans, tried to schedule things, but they never seemed to work out. But now I am old enough just to ride it down on my own! Last week I worke...

The View From Here: April 2009

The View From Here. Monday, April 27, 2009. Getting Ready For The Run. It's getting busy as my Dad and I get ready for Run For The Wall, the longest road trip I have ever gone on. This will be my second time going and I'm more excited than ever about this cross country road trip that will take several weeks to finish. In addition to that, we'll also go through Canada on the way home. We have two bike events this weekend and then Monday the adventure begins! More quickly than I thought it could happen, we...

The View From Here: Day 7: Arizona-New Mexico
http://theviewfromhere-spidey.blogspot.com/2011/05/day-7-arizona-new-mexico.html
The View From Here. Thursday, May 19, 2011. Day 7: Arizona-New Mexico. I was not looking forward to going outside again. There was a lot of snow on the ground and it was still pretty cold. But we needed to get out there at some point, so after breakfast at the hotel we got loaded and left. The last leg of the day was longer than the others, at just over 100 miles. Someone pulled over on the way and Dad hadn't seen a thumbs up sign (which means they're okay), so we stopped as well. We were about w...The r...

The View From Here: June 2011

The View From Here. Thursday, June 16, 2011. Run For The Wall: a Documentary. Many who were on the Run may have been asked by me if they could "answer a few questions for a documentary I'm making." If you were wondering when that will be coming out, here is an update. Also, since I was not able to finish the Run, I have asked a fellow Chaplain to provide me with footage from the Wall and other parts of the Run- that way I can have footage from the whole trip. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
