Where I found rust: Inside my mailbox, backyard fence, garage door, sewage drain on the neighborhood street. Focus – Vincent Van Photo

There’s some really cool things about taking pictures with an iPod/iPhone. Here’s two great things that happen when you simply tap on an object in the camera screen:. It automatically focuses on that object and blurs everything else around it. If the object is light colored (like the sun, a candle, etc.) the iPod camera will automatically darken everything around the object. Who remembers that science experiment that shows how different liquids of different masses will stay at different levels of the jar?

Hope y’all have been having a great summer! I had the rare opportunity to go to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico this summer; a wilderness with hundreds of miles of hiking trails. While I didn’t get the chance to take too many pictures while I was there, there were a few great opportunities for photos. The highlight of my trip was summiting Baldy Mountain, a 12,441 ft. peak. I had the chance to take photos on the way up, at the top, and on the way down. And I took advantage of each one. August 22, 2016.

Smalltography Part 1 – Vincent Van Photo

This is the first post out of a few that I’ll be focusing on Macro Photography (or smalltography). Typically, Macro Photography must be done with a very expensive camera like a Canon. However, you can buy a $17 attachment for your iPod that focuses in for you! All photos below were taken with the iPod touch 5th generation, using the Zeso 15x macro lens attachment.
