Monday, October 6, 2008. A visit with the HENS. As with everything on the colony they are self sufficient. Here we are visiting the hen house. The eggs are collected once a day. They are strictly for eggs. In another part of the building they raise chicken for the table. They butchered then earlier in the year. A BIG HOORAY FOR THE HOLLE FAMILY THAT OPENED THEIR HOME UP TO US FOR OUR ORIENTATION MEETING. NEXT TO THE PERRY FAMILY AND DOUG BROWN FOR HELPING TO DRIVE US TO OUR FIRST FIELD TRIP. Monday, October 6, 2008. A BEAUTIFUL DAY AT THE COLONY. Vicky from China, Nazokat. From Kyrgyzstan and Anne from Germany pose with the young ladies at the colony under a beautiful gazebo and lovely arch. These ladies from the colony took us on a tour. We first started at the school. In the school they have all ages of children. The school is up to date with computers. To help with their schooling. They generally go only to the 12 grade and then help with the needed chores around the colony.
