http://www.theagileba.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

One Business Analysts view of Agile software development. We struggled with planning poker sessions for months, until we discovered a technique called Story Sizing. Now its easy, and fun! Posted by Russell Smith. Location: Brighton and Hove, Brighton. Good stories are key to the success of software development for the vast majority of agile teams. Getting them right is not easy. Weve found a way that works, and its pretty simple! Posted by Russell Smith. Location: Brighton, Brighton and Hove, UK.

The Agile BA: About time too!

http://www.theagileba.blogspot.com/2012/03/about-time-to.html

One Business Analysts view of Agile software development. Well, I've finally got around to starting a blog! It's been something I've been talking about for a very long time. In the time since I've tried things and failed. I've been on courses; read books, blogs and articles; attended seminars and talks; I've also presented my experiences at summits and conferences. I then tried more things and failed again. Posted by Russell Smith. Location: Brighton, Brighton and Hove, UK. A little more conversation.

The Agile BA: Progressive Story Splitting

http://www.theagileba.blogspot.com/2012/04/feature-mapping.html

One Business Analysts view of Agile software development. Good stories are key to the success of software development for the vast majority of agile teams. Getting them right is not easy. We've found a way that works, and it's pretty simple! The INVEST model is widely accepted as an effective set of guidelines for ensuring your stories will be suitable for development. This article. Excellently explains what that means but in summary, stories should be:. Progressive Story Splitting (PSS). The product bac...

The Agile BA: A little more conversation

http://www.theagileba.blogspot.com/2012/03/little-more-conversation_22.html

One Business Analysts view of Agile software development. A little more conversation. Last week I was asked by a developer for a wireframe to go with a story in our current sprint. A simple request and something that I could have done, but I chose not to. We've been working in an agile way for about a year now. It's not been easy but we're finding our way. Slipping back in to old habits is something I'm acutely aware can easily happen. So the developer would know how the screen should be laid out.

The Agile BA: Story Sizing

http://www.theagileba.blogspot.com/2012/04/story-sizing.html

One Business Analysts view of Agile software development. We struggled with planning poker sessions for months, until we discovered a technique called Story Sizing. Now it's easy, and fun! I won't try to pretend that I was anywhere close to understanding story points when we first started using them. I was confused. Were they a measure of time, complexity, a combination of both, or perhaps even something else? It wasn't just me either, as a team it was just something we couldn't get our heads around.

The Nexus of Agile Practices, Lean Principles, and Common Sense. The Psychology of the Sign Off. November 14th, 2013. Make sure you get the Sign Off. That’s a common mantra in any business. The sign off is pursued and valued like it’s some kind of ancient idol. (The opening scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark comes to mind.) We take it for granted that it’s a necessary part of the processes we use to produce product. But what does the sign off really mean? Webster’s online dictionary defines sign off.

The Agile Badger Illustrations

Wednesday, August 11, 2010. A couple months ago, I received a call from Steve "Carpy" Carpenter. If you love motorcycles and know anything about café racing, you know who Carpy is. My problem was, when he called, I didn't—and he knew it. For the most part, cars are my thing. And though I've been fascinated by motorcycles since I was a kid, I didn't have any chops when it came to bike banter with the big boys. He'd seen my website. Rotten luck, I was booked solid for several weeks out and couldn't help him.
