James Higgerson’s website. The Almost Lizard website. Writing, researching and rambling. Chuggers on the doorstep – UNICEF’s responses. Following on from my post on Monday, I let UNICEF know that I had posted, more in fairness than expecting a response. But a response I did get, quickly as well (have been waiting until today to make sure it’s okay for me to share it with you). Before the emails, I just wanted to share this, which I saw in Liverpool today:. We do take all feedback very seriously and I hav...

About - James Higgerson
http://www.jameshiggerson.com/about
Hello I'm James Higgerson. I'm a 30 year old writer and PhD student living in Manchester, England. I have a couple of cats (Omar and Avon, named after two of Baltimore's finest), and I can often be found lurking further and further to the back of gigs across the city. My main love is writing fiction, and I have two novels completed. The first - Shot Down. Won second place in the Luke Bitmead Bursary Award 2008. Whilst writing solo is fun in itself, I'm always up for trying out collaborations with others&...

Please feel free to share this, I would like as many people to see it as possible* *. Thank you for all you do and everything – you’re obviously a great charity doing a lot of good in the world. Yet tonight I don’t like you very much. After my training day I didn’t take that job. It felt underhand and in the office you got to...You are...

Natural election – Survival of the bigoted | jameshiggerson

James Higgerson’s website. The Almost Lizard website. Writing, researching and rambling. Natural election – Survival of the bigoted. Just over a year ago I wrote a blog. Secondly, how can we say that we live in a democracy when only 36% participate (which is actually more than recent local election? How terrible is it that just over 100 years ago suffragettes were battling for women to have votes, yet now nearly 2/3 of the population are completely disengaged? Thirdly, where is the argument for Europe?

James Higgerson’s website. The Almost Lizard website. Writing, researching and rambling. Another fucking blog post complaining about the results of the fucking election. Why am I disappointed? We have a government now with a tradition for working against the poor. Guess what? Where is our radical demanding new and better ideas, rather than the continuation of this limp succession of wet fish? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. UKIP: Abhorrent, but not unexpected | jameshiggerson

James Higgerson’s website. The Almost Lizard website. Writing, researching and rambling. UKIP: Abhorrent, but not unexpected. It’s not been possible to go on Twitter this week without seeing UKIP, initially for their general spats with the Tories through to their rather notable success in the local elections on Thursday. In the meantime, this ill-formed band of bigots are marching on and inspiring new voters, offering the potential for real change. That’s what I mean when they’re saying t...Address never...

So there was the side who tuned in to be outraged by the evidence of these scroungers who are bleeding the country dry whilst they go out and pay their taxes. LOOK AT THEM! STOOD ON THEIR DOORSTEPS! I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO SMOKE! AND HIM – THE ALKIE! WE’RE PAYING FOR HIM TO GET PISSED EVERY DAY OF HIS LIFE! AND ALL THOSE KIDS! BLEEDING THIS COUNTRY DRY… etc, etc…. You are comme...

Novels - James Higgerson
http://www.jameshiggerson.com/novels
My main writing passion is for novels, and I've so far written three in my life. One is tucked away in a drawer, probably never to see the light of day again. The other two, however, are ready for agents and publishers. I want to see these stories in bookshops. I want people to read my stories and I'm dedicated to making that happen. It's a simple dream. Best friends don't tend to shoot each other dead at gigs. They don't tend to stalk each other either.

James Higgerson’s website. The Almost Lizard website. Writing, researching and rambling. Hooray, someone else wanking on about Breaking Bad. This is just what the blogosphere (do we still use that term? It shows that, contrary to popular opinion, quality programming can have a wide audience. Does anyone know the BBC policy on broadcasting imported programmes? I don’t see how this couldn’t have been a major BBC show, with millions tuning in each week, as they have through Netflix. 8211; I use the words &#...
