Me Made May | The Amazing Adventures of Taracat
https://theamazingtaracat.wordpress.com/me-made-may
The Amazing Adventures of Taracat. A big thank you to Zoe. For Me Made May. This is my attempt to record my efforts during my first go at this challenge. I have pledged to wear one me-made item a day at least six days a week throughout May. Day 1: Well no one said they had to be good photos. I’d had a tough day at work. So tough I appear to have actually fallen asleep standing up. Such is life. I must find time to take pics before work rather than after – I look like cak. Day 5: And this is where the gap...

The Amazing Adventures of Taracat. Back better, sprained ankle and nothing new to report. That’s it, really. My back got better then I sprained my right ankle. My body is conspiring to prevent me from doing any sewing. I am slowly working on my knitting and hoping to have something to show you all soon, so please bear with me. Is my Nautical Emery Dolly Clackett enough? | The Amazing Adventures of Taracat
https://theamazingtaracat.wordpress.com/2014/04/07/is-my-nautical-emery-dolly-clackett-enough
The Amazing Adventures of Taracat. Is my Nautical Emery Dolly Clackett enough? Bloody Hell, why didn’t I just listen to all of you and make up my Christine Haynes Emery pattern. As soon as I got it? I am now cursing myself for all the time I wasted when I could have been making Emerys. It took the Sew Dolly Clackett! This is my first attempt, a tribute to her many nautical dresses. For example this. And of course this one. I was a bit concerned about the fabric, even for a wearable muslin. It came fr...

The Amazing Adventures of Taracat. Animal Laurel on the beach. Has it really been that long since I posted something? If you want an excuse I can actually offer a good one this time – I got some really exciting non-sewing related news a couple of weeks ago. I was shortlisted for the Telegraph Harvill Secker Crime Writing Competition,. I didn’t win, but despite that suddenly everything seems to be moving very quickly. People are interested in my stuff! I actually finished this dress the day before Tilly.

A sewing and crafting blog. Happy New Year all – hope all had a happy and restorative seasonal break! A huge thank you to the Secret Santa assigned to me by Krafty Kat. Your gifts were gorgeous! I’ve had an extremely productive sewing year in 2013 with back to back projects. What I find difficult though is to stop in between and keep the blog up-to-date – cutting into new material is always too tempting for me…. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. January 5, 2014. Amy's Quick Unpick: August 2013
http://amysquickunpick.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Musings on sewing and the like. Thursday, 29 August 2013. New Look 6184 finished! The dress for my mum is finished! Suprisingly, the insertion of the invisible zip went wonderfully and I even hand-stitched the hem (I *hate* hand sewing). Here are some pictures:. The contrast belt worked well too. Here are some close up shots:. All in all, a big pat on the back for me! As this was finished just after lunch, I got on with making McCalls M6744. I'm going to try to reproduce the success of my mum's dress and...
begonia sews: Upcycled Papercut Anima pants and Simplicity 8228 Madalynne bra
http://begoniasews.blogspot.com/2017/01/upcycled-papercut-anima-pants-and.html
Wednesday, 11 January 2017. Upcycled Papercut Anima pants and Simplicity 8228 Madalynne bra. In order to not stand around in just a bra, I figured I'd show these two makes together. I spend too much time trying to think up things to do with tshirts. You know the ones I mean - those heavyweight, oversized, shapeless, screen-printed tshirts that we all get too many of for free. A few of them work to sleep in but they last a long time! So this pair of Papercut Anima pants. Even with this magenta tee, which ...

Friday, 25 March 2016. Purl Soho Diagonal Twist Scarf. There is nothing more annoying than a completed blog post vanishing into the black hole. Except when it does so in Ukrainian. In Thailand I managed to switch my blog back into English but I can't do it here and it's driving me crazy. This is the Diagonal Twist Scarf. There's nothing like a person who is totally ecstatic to receive your project! Because of the boredom I would not recommend this scarf unless you really love the pattern. Camille insiste...

Wednesday, 21 October 2015. Opale dress from Grains de Couture. After luck put me in Delft during the weekend of the fabric market, I had sewing on the brain. I lasted one week without sewing: ) I ended up with about 6 meters of lovely rayon jerseys and itchy fingers. Upon assessment, what I had done wrong:. No SA on the neckline. Back facing without SA, although I did put it on the dress cutouts. So, updates are below:. It was time to come to the rescue! I stay stitched the neck (better late than never?

Wednesday, 27 April 2016. Sallie Jumpsuit by Closet Case patterns. I prepared this pdf pattern while deep in my sewing preparations, and went for a size 8 based on so many people saying to go by your measurements. I'm sort of a 6-8, because I have been exercising and my already square torso has become more square. Nobody mentions that when you get ab muscles you lose your waistline for them! I took about 3 hours to make this - a concentrated morning. It came together with no mishaps, although I had n...

Sunday, 28 February 2016. Tailoring in Hoi An, Vietnam. Hoi An is famous for its tailors. It's where all sorts of people go to get high end suits made. I had my favourite shorts copied early in my Asia trip, shortly before they fell apart, and I didn't expect to want anything else. My only remaining complaint is my fault - I wanted the belt to be sides only, and end at the back princess seams, but I didn't mention it so I got a real belt. The girl who did my measurements really drove home that my main is...

Sewing, fashion, fabric, and things I like. Skip to primary content. Dixie DIY: Ballet Dress. May 27, 2013. Wow guys… two makes in one weekend. I think that’s a record for me. I’ve been so busy having fun every weekend that I really wanted to chill out and spend some QT with my sewing machine. I made this sweet little knit dress using the Dixie DIY Ballet Dress Pattern. I really love this dress. It’s comfortable, skims the body enough to show you’re a lady, and easy to make. I love the drape of the skirt...
