Kerri's Korner: birds part#2
http://kerris-korner.blogspot.com/2015/07/birds-part2.html
Tuesday, July 14, 2015. With the laying hens moved out into the field, I could now go on the hunt for some show birds to put in the green coop. I started an intense search for a male red golden pheasant. These beauties are hard to find. Our male red golden pheasant - photo credit: Andrew. We added silkies and two female red golden pheasants to the coop. The silkies make you smile with their puff of feathers on their head. They have a calm, quite character which helps balance the skittish pheasants. Near ...

Kerri's Korner: August 2015

Thursday, August 27, 2015. The summer of the pregnant Goat. When we decided to buy a goat, I started looking for a pregnant goat so we could have the experience of watching little kid(s) being born and raising them. I found a lady on kijiji who assured me that the goat she was selling was pregnant and so we bought Mabel, a skittish sort of goat but we had high hopes she would make a great mother. Every morning I would peer through our windows, hoping to see a little kid. I carefully watched for any signs...

Kerri's Korner: boys and their bugs... and worms... and fascination with any living creature
http://kerris-korner.blogspot.com/2015/06/boys-and-their-bugs-and-worms-and.html
Monday, June 15, 2015. Boys and their bugs. and worms. and fascination with any living creature. I ran out of those weeks ago when the weather turned warm. Bugs that fly, bugs that crawl, bugs that think they are safe under a rock or a log - there's no place where they can hide when these boys are around. Habitats are created. Words like thorax, broken wings, and antenae are over- heard in little boy conversations. Playing all day long.their bath water is dirty! June 17, 2015 at 11:26 AM.

Kerri's Korner: Surviving the Terrible Twos
http://kerris-korner.blogspot.com/2015/06/surviving-terrible-twos.html
Saturday, June 20, 2015. Surviving the Terrible Twos. This is one blog post I feel very qualified to write. Four out of five of our boys have been troublesome toddlers. After birth they have given us about enough time to work through the sleep-deprived newborn stage and then they start walking. A day later they start running. Fast, curious, fiercely independent, unafraid, energetic, and trips to the ER mark these eventful days. Its too high" or "I might get hurt" are unheard of in our household. Realize ...

Kerri's Korner: Cesar - our fresh air kid
http://kerris-korner.blogspot.com/2015/08/cesar-our-fresh-air-kid.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Cesar - our fresh air kid. This year our family decided to look into the Fresh Air Fund, an organization that takes kids from New York and places them with families throughout Ontario during the summer. This allows kids to experience life outside of the city and in many cases, get relief from the pressures in their family life. This is something that my family did while I was growing up and was something I looked forward to doing with our own family. Cesar, age 7, from the Bronx.

Kerri's Korner: January 2015
http://kerris-korner.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. My dad surrounded by four daughters and a wife for many years. GUYS have joined him! Wednesday, January 28, 2015. This week has marked the 70th year since the Liberation of the dreadful Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Watching the events surrounding the 70th Anniversary made me think of another liberation story I had recently read. This story is so beautiful that it is worth sharing. The following Liberation story is found in this book. As far as religion was concerned, I'd been...

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Traveling through Europe.in our imaginations! Traveling" through Europe during this cold, long- lasting winter has been a highlight for our family! It all started way back in December when my friend made us a mouth watering, homemade lasagna (as in making the noodles from scratch - something I would never attempt! Having a meal given to you is great, eating something so superb is even greater! We had Italian music serenade us in the background. We ate Polish candy straight fro...
