Friday, July 22, 2011. The thermometer on our shed this afternoon. We're on our fourth day in a row of way-too-hot-for-central-Pennsylvania weather. The temperatures have been in the low 100s and the heat index has been around 110, with the humidity factored in. Oh man. I am not a hot-weather person. Friday, November 6, 2009. I couldn't stand being in the house one moment longer. Once my daughter woke up from her nap, we headed out on a walk into the chilly, chilly sunset. Today I'm fascinated by how fast fall has progressed here! The briskness is an absolute now, every time I step outside. The leaves are almost completely gone from the trees. And the chimney smoke! I smelled some today on our walk, and it thrilled my soul. The only wish I have for our new house is that it had a wood burning stove.

Monday, September 28, 2009. My friend Matt and I carved this last year. we made up our own stencil. Driving around the neighborhood, I am reminded of the approaching season with all the Pumpkins I see popping up! I could have caused an accident by the way I was startled by the size of one of these pumpkins on my drive home from church. I have also been so fortunate to live back in the Steele neighborhood.
