The excitement was palpable and the stretches were done.it was the day of something iconic, something slowly trying to be sidelined as we hesitate to build competition into our children's lives. Somehow in my mind it didn't match up to my memories of running up a grass track on sunny days, racing to get that first.the buzz.the cheers.the laughter. But as I looked at our wee ones I saw excitement written all over their faces. These are not my memories, rose tinted as they are, but theirs. Pure joy to watch.

Nostalgia - I find it such a strong emotion. I love delving into the past - discovering a bit about your history; the paths and the journeys that led to my path, my journey. This house holds much nostalgia for me, where bricks and mortar do intertwine with emotion and history. A place of my dad's childhood and youth, many memories for him of which I only know a few. I don't like change, a fear of life changing - it doesn't come easy for me.
