Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Inspired by the murmuration of Starlings and Andrew Lahiff's ambient piece, "The Quiet Memory." I took my reference photo a few years back in the quiet of Winter, February. On that day, I remember how intriguing the light was from that clock face against the cold, grey afternoon. My plan to create a group of Starlings flying out of the clock and in murmuration in the distance offers the idea that time could move forward even with no observer. Absorbing the setting, making it my home. I am obsessed with the relationship that is created at this point between myself and the ‪#‎ambient‬. Energy that is naturally being created. Or am I the only one creating it? Either way, when my senses start to intersect between themselves during this process, I know I am in it.

Monday, April 9, 2012. The Painter of Light. Thomas Kinkade is someone I thought would live forever. Painting until he could no longer hold his arm up to brush his delicate highlights on his serene scenes. He harbored the talent and detail to examine and announce the beauty of any landscape. Paying close attention to where light travels is something I have seen attempted by many. In my humble opinion, only a few succeed. But who am I to judge that? Rest in peace, painter of light. Wednesday, June 13, 2012. In "Crescendo", I wanted to simply offer sound as a tangible object. Sound, visible to the naked eye, flying outward and upward from an old, washed up piano. The seagulls, sampling both small and large notes, ascending into the late afternoon sky to encompass and create the essence of the sound itself. Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
