Stitching stories, threading tales, weaving webs. Newer posts →. September 11, 2012. After having had this piece on the wall with the moon attached, (see here. I decided to try this ‘sun’ instead. I much prefer it. I am slowly, very slowly, adding to this – a collage in cloth. I like the pace – it suits me right now. Tips hat* to Soundgarden for the title – it is one of my favourite songs so methinks that’s okay. Another Visual Dialogue begins. August 8, 2012. This time with Becky. And we are off! Along ...

I spy with my altered eye: Dyeing to have fun
http://alteredeye.blogspot.com/2015/03/dyeing-to-have-fun.html
I spy with my altered eye. Monday, March 23, 2015. Dyeing to have fun. I spent a very happy Sunday afternoon last month with my friend, the inimitable Knitting Mongoose. Where she taught me a bit about dyeing. I don't know what came over me as I'm not usually a brights person, but obviously my subconscious desperately needed two rainbows. Dried and wound, the cakes of yarn look very different and I thought I would knit them up into a pair of socks. Dyeing to have fun. However, I decided that I really nee...

http://alteredeye.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
I spy with my altered eye. Tuesday, June 10, 2014. I bought my first batt at Yarndale last year - a vision of soft loveliness from Hilltop Cloud.that satisfied my urge for something verdigris. As a fairly new spinner, I didn't appreciate what a challenge the fibre content would pose:. 40% Bluefaced Leicester (BFL). It was the camel that made me sweat the most as its staple length. I had to ask for advice on how to even spin from a batt and I started off by pulling off strips and spinning them longdraw.

I spy with my altered eye: October 2014
http://alteredeye.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
I spy with my altered eye. Friday, October 10, 2014. I did something big today. For years I was obsessed with paper crafts, especially rubber stamping. I spent a small fortune on them, even sourcing rarities from the USA. However, eventually my interests moved on and my supplies just sat marinating but neglected and taking up space. I feared what that would feel like but it feels right, freeing and timely. There's more, so much more to go, but it's a start. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
