Self-Sown Stuff | the artichoke heart
https://theartichokeheart.wordpress.com/2010/11/06/self-sown-stuff
Just another WordPress.com weblog. A note on the puttering reflex…. We just harvested a lot of cilantro which finally sprouted and grew from last year’s crop, some of which I let go to seed, then scattered earlier in the summer. I love self-sown crops. Besides cilantro, there’s also bok choi, arugula and a good hot purple mustard that have established themselves — even some lettuce still growing from last year’s seeds. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Sunrise, Sunset. The sun has disappeared,. I have switched off the light,. And my wife and children are asleep. The animals in the forest are full of fear,. And so are the people on their mats. They prefer the day with your sun. But I still know that your moon is there,. And your eyes and also your hands. Thus I am not afraid. You led us wonder-fully. Everybody went to his mat. Renew us during our sleep,. That in the morning. We may come afresh to our daily jobs.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; tomato pride. Here are some pictures Dan took of the dawn sky as seen from the garden. I like the shoes, nice touch Dan. And alas, La Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre bathed in the morning light. The “Virgin of Charity” is tucked away in a quiet and orderly section in the back of the garden, yet she is visible from the front gate, as a welcome into the garden. Here is her story. March 20, 2009 at 2:59 pm ( Uncategorized. I thought this was so amazing that I’d share it. Written by my friends’ dad. We’re going to the memorial service tomorrow. Dear Family and Friends, 3-18-2009. It was the most bitter-sweet moment I have ever experienced. My flow of tears seemed like they would never stop but then they melted into thanksgiving to God for his grace in saving her from her sin and giving us such an incredible gift. Turning to Cindy he asked, ‘What would you do? Folks, this is a conse...

March 3, 2009 at 6:38 pm ( Uncategorized. I look forward to having to be more productive. It seems like there some other areas of life where I spend a lot of energy thinking about the exciting new things that are to come and lose motivations for what’s right in front of me. Update: Two highlights of my long weekend were my mutli-hour walk in 60 degree weather on Friday and sledding in 20 degree weather last night. Crazy! March 3, 2009 at 11:58 pm. March 31, 2009 at 8:09 pm ( Uncategorized. Last night, I got to thinking about some radical ideas about how to handle money. It’s wierd having money now and having all these options of what to do with it. Should I buy a house, invest it, save for retirement, or just let it sit in savings and take my time figure all that out (which is what we’re currently doing)? That was the life. No money…. And I’m not talking about this 10% stuff….how about all of it! Or should I put it in the bank for my peace of mind?
