The Divine Things that Matter Most: July 2016
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 25, 2016. But back to the past few weeks -. We tried to take lots of breaks from unpacking. We have moved into a spectacular ward. My children have already found a network of close friends within biking distance of our house. I love this. I have been praying for this. But this also becomes a burden when I'm trying to get things accomplished and the only thing my children want to know is when can "so and so" come over to play? The windows of heaven are open right now. 1 - 4th of July. And I t...

The Divine Things that Matter Most: September 2016
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 26, 2016. I have woefully neglected to credit a small - but by no means unimportant - super hero in our family. This super hero came on board 7 years ago when the current Tooth Fairy had reached the end of her career. No doubt her wings were drooping with fatigue and her crown too full of things to remember. And then came The Tooth Fairy's salvation. Everyone in our family loves The Tooth Man! Links to this post. Tuesday, September 20, 2016. On a whim, we toured the Ice Caves this year ...

Monday, March 28, 2016. It's Official - Our Next Adventure! The Road goes ever on and on. Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone,. And I must follow, if I can. Pursuing it with eager feet,. Until it joins some larger way. Where many paths and errands meet. I cannot say.". Links to this post. Friday, March 18, 2016. Some big things are hanging in the balance right now. But I can't talk about that yet. In the meantime, here's a few things we've been doing -. Just a few more week...

The Divine Things that Matter Most: May 2016
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 29, 2016. My Dad has always wanted to stay at the Old Faithful lodge in Yellowstone - but he never remembers in advance enough to make a reservation (they book years ahead). This year he lucked out and took advantage of a cancellation the first weekend in May. He jumped at the chance. (Not really. He's still limping along from his massive back surgery.). Our Sweetie and his cousin Ethan went with him. That's our son. We missed him. Links to this post. Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Over April Confe...

The Divine Things that Matter Most: December 2016
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2016_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 26, 2016. Me the week before Christmas. Stomach flu. Working late. Deserted, dark house with wonderful husband and happy children already fleeing south to warmer weather. Tons and tons of ice mixed with snow. And then that horrible night the furnace broke. I needed Greg. I really. This old house is falling down around my ears. I'm drowning in a river of my tears. When all my will is gone you hold me sway. I need you at the dimming of the day. You pull me like the moon pulls on the tide.

The Divine Things that Matter Most: October 2016
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 30, 2016. At the end of the summer we decided to make our first major change to the new house. It was a bit risky because this is our first experience living inside an HOA with strict HOA rules. I checked the language multiple times about landscape changes and then I consulted several neighbors. I'm still nervous even now that one of these days we'll get a letter in the mail. But so far all is good. Crossing my fingers she makes it through the winter. Links to this post. I think this is t...

The Divine Things that Matter Most: December
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2017/01/december.html
Monday, January 2, 2017. 1 - The Eggnog Contest. For years - nay, over a decade - Greg and I have debated the merits of homemade eggnog (me) vs store-bought eggnog (him). So in the middle of December, we finally decided to conduct an official taste test and let our kids be the judges. Mom came in dead last. 2 - Christmas Concert. I was especially fond of the hymns where the audience sang with the choir - it made me choke up with tears. 3 - The Ugly Sweater Cookies. 4 - Inventive Creativity. My mom sent v...

The Divine Things that Matter Most: April 2016
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 24, 2016. I read this piece last winter and loved how Crooker uncovered the miraculous grace in the ordinary. I especially love it now when I'm horribly missing the ordinary. Only 5 weeks left. Looking forward to those long, slow kisses again (minus the coffee). This was a day when nothing happened,. The children went off to school. Remembering their books, lunches, gloves. All morning, the baby and I built block stacks. In the squares of light on the floor. And lunch blended into naptime,.

The Divine Things that Matter Most: January 2016
http://ourdivinethings.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 28, 2016. Over Christmas break, I pulled out my box of magnetic poetry on the fridge and told the kids to go nuts. I wanted to see their young, creative minds work with a limited amount of words and space. Here's a few of them -. Bubbs had great fun putting together randomness and asking us to read his creations out loud so he could laugh at the nonsense -. Her not if. Pant drive my together. Watch with smooth vision. The moon and music whisper together. Sun girl rock out. Sweetie was n...
