RACE OF ATTRITION: July 2013
http://raceofattrition.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 22, 2013. Pro XCT and a little R R. It’s been both a busy and then relaxing the past few weeks. We got started last Friday by loading up the big car with enough bikes, gear, cats, camping supplies, and food for 2 people, 4 races and a week’s vacation. We drove to Tomah to meet my Mom who took the cats for the week then headed east over to Mt. Morris in time to get a good camping spot and pre ride a few laps of the course. It’s tough on the confidence! What a great feeling! The problem with c...

RACE OF ATTRITION: September 2013
http://raceofattrition.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 27, 2013. The first Cyclocross race of the year is always a bit of the shock to the system and this year was no exception. Despite being a C2 event this year the field was loaded with talent. A lackluster UCI cross season last year left me with no UCI points and starting in the back of the field. I spent most of both days hunting people down, passing them, and setting my sights on the next person. Friday, September 27, 2013. Thursday, September 19, 2013. Heather and I prerace. Physicall...

RACE OF ATTRITION: June 2013
http://raceofattrition.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Sunday was officially the cap on my base phase prep for the season, month 3 of 3 of the big miles. I typically do 3 weeks of progressively harder volume followed by a recovery week. This past week was the biggest of the year for me and I capped it off with an 80 mile ride Saturday and then 103 on Sunday. That gives me about 20 hours for the week. I’m pretty happy with that but I can tell I’m sore today. Miles of wet pavement has become the norm this year. But Subaru Cup is just ar...

RACE OF ATTRITION: December 2013
http://raceofattrition.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 13, 2013. Mountain Bike Season Wrap up. Cyclocross may still be going strong but I think it’s safe to say mountain biking is done for the year. Looking back there were a ton of fun races and I made some good progress as a rider, of course I can see there is a lot more work to do and bigger goals to meet in 2014. I fell short on some of the goals I set for myself but that will happen when you aim high. I try to learn from what went wrong and remember what went right. It’s been an in...

RACE OF ATTRITION: November 2013
http://raceofattrition.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 19, 2013. The late fall has been kind of stop and go for me racing wise. After WORS finished up I needed a little break from training. I wasn't able to race the last WORS race due to a wedding but it wasn't really in the racing plan anyway. Instead I took about a week off the bike and started gearing up for Iceman and cyclocross. The local cross scene is great and I came out with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in attempts. Not too bad! 3rd at Further Cross. Calm before the storm. Lawrence Christma...

RACE OF ATTRITION: Year in review
http://raceofattrition.blogspot.com/2015/01/year-in-review.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Well, I am putting the finishing touches on the oaf-est period of my off season after Cyclocross nationals in Austin. Since I left before the major rains came, I wasn’t fortunate enough to be part of the cancellation/non cancellation of the elite races. I opted for the 35 Masters race with the goal of going for a stars and stripes jersey. In the end a poor start meant that I never made contact with the front group and I had to settle for 9. Many miles were logged. I raced a lot.

RACE OF ATTRITION: January 2014
http://raceofattrition.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Post CX Nats/ Year End. To the surprise of many of my non cycling friends the competitive season does have an end and I have now reached that point! It’s been two weeks since I got back from Cyclocross nationals in Boulder and the time has been busy and exhausting. It seems the travel never stops whether it’s racing or catching up with friends. I believe it’s a good thing though, I want to pack as much as possible into life and wouldn’t have it any other way. I rode up to 2.
