Building Accessible Rooms Now for a severely disabled child. The BARN Project is a unique volunteer-based effort to build an affordable accessible home addition for a deserving little Mainer named Miles. Caring for Miles is a labor of love and something that his parents wish to continue to do from home all the days of their lives. If you’d like to read more about Miles, you can do so here. An ample great room with specially designed space for Miles to learn independent mobility. The BARN Project is an ac...

Building Accessible Rooms Now for a severely disabled child. BIG IMMEDIATE NEED for Septic and Haul-Away Labor. By Michelle Poppleton Chumsae. Many volunteers are moving this project along beautifully, and they all have our deepest gratitude. We’re ready to pour the basement floor and start framing next weekend! Our builder Jason is working hard to get all the appropriate volunteers. He’s having a tough time finding help in several areas. Can you help spread the word? Excavate hole for new septic tank.

Building Accessible Rooms Now for a severely disabled child. Christmas blessings and gratitude. By Michelle Poppleton Chumsae. It is Christmas Eve, a special time to reflect on our blessings, and here we are. Poor little Miles is sick with a nasty virus, as he always seems to be on Christmas, but he is such a sweet little trooper and still somehow gives us some smiles today. Merry Christmas and THANK YOU for making it an extra joyous Christmas in our growing house. Dec 26, 2013. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Building Community Brick By Brick. A fine WordPress.com site. Everyone Has Something to Give. Size Doesn’t Matter. October 18, 2013. Meet my brother-in-law Bill the Fabulous. We’ve had family SWAT weekend for years now. The hosting family comes up with a serious Fix-It list and feeds the family and we get stuff done. Giving is a judgement-free zone, but sometimes we’re our own worst critics, frozen by the philanthropic version of analysis paralysis. What’s $25 going to solve? Those are hurdles that actua...
