The Techno Beat: Bita Gora Tsuichi
http://thetechnobeat.blogspot.com/2007/05/bita-gora-tsuichi.html
Monday, May 28, 2007. I've always been fascinated by Rube Goldberg machines, and these devices are particularly cool. Some of the most precise such machines I've ever seen, and they're still made completely out of household products. I just wish the end result was something better than the ubiquitous Japanese phrase "Bita Gora Tsuichi" which I can't translate now, but check back later and maybe I'll have cared enough to figure it out. The Techno Beat: May 2007
http://thetechnobeat.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 30, 2007. The Future of Computing. A lot of multi-touch devices are beginning to pop up (the iPhone, for instance), but this is straight out of Minority Report. Basic PC setups have been relatively unchanged for the past couple of decades (save, perhaps, for the advent of the flat-screen monitor), but the addition of multi-touch computing could take the genre into a whole new level. The Techno Beat: Should I make the switch?
http://thetechnobeat.blogspot.com/2007/05/should-i-make-switch.html
Thursday, May 10, 2007. Should I make the switch? I have used Linux before, but only for about a week before I ended up returning the Linux-installed computer I had purchased. That was a few years ago, though, and it seems like it may be time for me to start thinking about Linux again. especially with clients like Ubuntu out there. Lifehacker. Linked me to this article. That goes into many of the ins-and-outs of installing and using Linux, so who knows? I may be making the switch in the nearish future.

The Techno Beat: USB Chiller and Warmer? Heck Yes!
http://thetechnobeat.blogspot.com/2007/05/usb-chiller-and-warmer-heck-yes.html
Friday, May 11, 2007. USB Chiller and Warmer? I've just discovered Brando. And while I was browsing for the first time I saw this drink chiller/warmer. Which, remarkably, runs off of USB power. The moral of the story? I want it. However, my computer is already stuffed to the gills with USB devices so I might have to get this nifty Card Reader/ Bluetooth Dongle/ USB Hub. First in order to keep up. Holy man, this site rocks (and the gadgets are pretty cheap, too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
